Stickbulb LLC, a cutting edge New York City based designer and manufacturer of high quality
LED light fixtures, is currently seeking a highly meticulous individual with a sharp eye to ensure quality and assist in the manufacturing and assembly of our products. We assemble our fixtures in house. The role of the Quality Technician ensures that all of the parts are up to our high standards.
Stickbulb’s mission is to create innovation in sustainable lighting design with the use of organic and timeless materials. We are dedicated to the finest quality of design and craftsmanship. We use sustainably sourced and reclaimed woods and manufacture our unique lighting elements in New York City. Stickbulbs are versatile, modular, and sleek wooden beams of light available in one to six foot lengths and are designed to plug into and out of various steel hardware connectors, without tools. Responsibilities:
Fabrication and assembly of all components of our unique light fixtures
Daily sampling and inspection of manufactured parts; mark, tag, or note problems
Approve incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials
Communicate with Production Manager on inspection results and quality improvements; notify supervisor when defects are found and help to analyze and correct production problems
Work with basic shop tools on wood and metal components for blemishes and fit issues as certain situations arise
Make soldered electrical connections
Perform all other duties as assigned
The ideal candidate will possess the following as minimum qualifications:
A high level of craftsmanship and ability to work with your hands
1-2 years of shop experience
Comfort and familiarity working in a workshop environment including familiarity with the use of common wood and metal working tools
Familiarity with soldering and making simple electric connections.
Extreme attention to detail and quality
Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and consistently produce quality work.
Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and work with a team towards a common goal.
Be a clean and organized person
Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel/Google Docs and Sheets
Communicates well (verbal and written skills)
Some heavy lifting required.
Valid driver’s license and experience driving in and around New York City is a bonus.
