The Director, HR M&A will represent the HR organization on merger, acquisition, and divestiture transactions for Autodesk. This critical role is responsible for the M&A employee experience and owns the people strategy and integration process. This individual will partner closely with business leaders, HR Business Partners, HR Functions, and Cross Functional leads to navigate, understand, and integrate these transactions into (or out of) the business. He/she will represent all HR interests in the process, and will manage the involvement of experts in these areas when necessary. He/she will lead the pre and post-acquisition integration activities across multiple transactions for the HR organization through planning, prioritizing, organizing, and management of the integration to meet business objectives. This person will also have the opportunity to pro-actively drive the programmatic direction of Autodesk’s HR M&A programs and is encouraged to come up with new ideas (or iterations of existing ones) that can be implemented to engage the talent that comes to Autodesk via acquisitions. This is a highly visible position and a great opportunity to demonstrate leadership, gain exposure to all parts of the organization, represent the HR function, and get critical work done.
Responsibilities
• Partner with business on front end transaction process to identify, scope, and manage people issues related to a transaction
• Represent HR on all aspects of Mergers, Acquisitions, and Divestitures
• Develop program/project plan and schedule in partnership with HR M&A Project Manager
• Perform critical path analysis and develop action plans to mitigate risk for transactions. Identify and implement alternative solutions. Deliver a variety of presentations in support of deal objectives
• Define program/project resource plan, including internal and contract resources. Develop the business case for technology programs/projects. Recruit external partners and manage new partner application and contract renewal process. Present the program to potential partners. Monitor and analyze performance of partners through evaluations and other quantifiable means; monitor and enforce applicable requirements
• Monitor program/project to ensure completion within defined schedule, budget, and quality parameters
• Openly and effectively flag when projects are at risk and demonstrate pro-active problem solving abilities in such situations
• Effectively contract and communicate with stakeholders to ensure satisfaction with program/project management services and product delivery
• Develop strong stakeholder relationships and maintain effective communication channels. Consult with others on development and execution of deals. Define practices and processes for managing client and stakeholder expectations
• Monitor program/project strategies, tactics and procedures to meet changing needs of partners and the business. Gather feedback from partners through face-to-face meetings, phone calls, surveys, and other methods. Maintain the efficient and effective operation of the program by implementing changes as required
• Interface with various functional groups, program/project teams and other stakeholders to effectively resolve issues and remove barriers to program success. Implement and improve procedures and processes to optimize program effectiveness
Minimum Qualifications
• 8-10 years' work experience in HR
• Tech industry experience a must
• Demonstrated program, project management capability
• BA/BS Required, MBA a plus
• Evidence of strong interest in HR / Organization / People Issues
• Experience running large scale global projects
• Comfort with ambiguity and motivated to solve complex problems
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Cross cultural awareness
• Ability to work independently AND with a team
• Experience in a matrix organization
• Learn it all (ie, not a know it all) ideal
