Summary
Yelp is looking for that certain special someone to join our Human Resources team in San Francisco as our next HR Operations Coordinator! Our ideal candidate is someone who is a go-getter, positive and able to learn and adapt in a fast-growing environment.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain employee data in Workday including entering all new hires, updating organizational structure changes, job titles changes, salary increases, etc
• Audit changes entered by others
• Work collaboratively with other HR teams as well as multiple other organizations across the company (our internal customers)
• Respond to employee questions sent to internal HR alias about benefits, PTO accruals, address changes, etc
• Create and maintain employee files
• Review candidate documentation and run background checks
• Work with Payroll team to ensure new hires are paid according to their start dates, receive any relocation/signing bonuses, and are set up correctly for deduction of taxes
• Ensure compliance with the I-9 process, including E-verify for remote employees in required states
• Conduct employment verifications and handle unemployment claims
• Handle back-end process for terminations, such as terming out of systems and sending separation paperwork
• General administrative work as needed
• Generate reports for analytics, auditing purposes, etc.
• Assist with maintenance of company intranet
• Continuously look for better ways to do things, partner with HR Ops peers and other teams to improve processes, and educate partners on our processes
Requirements:
• Minimum of 1 year work experience in a Human Resources or similar support role
• Bachelor’s degree is a plus
• Preferred but not required: Working knowledge of HR systems, benefits plans and payroll processes
• Attention to detail is a must
• Ability to work independently and also as part of a collaborative team
• High ethical standards with demonstrated experience handling highly sensitive and confidential information
• Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Able to work effectively in an open, highly energetic environment
• Effective oral and written communication skills
