Position at Taylor Communications Inc.
Taylor Communications is seeking a Rotary Press Operator to work in Coldwater, Ohio. The position is responsible for setting up and operating our wet offset printing presses.
Shift Available
• Monday - Friday and scheduled Saturdays as required
• 2nd shift 3 pm- 11pm with overtime
Responsibilities Include:
• Sets up press (cross/skip perfs, punches, correct paper, ink, etc.) per order specifications.
• Loads and unloads paper rolls from front (rewind) and back (unwind) of press.
• Performs a variety of adjustments such as (adjusting controls to regulate ink volume, adjust ink and water rollers, changes blanket and packing) to ensure proper operation of machine and quality of product.
• Examines proof to determine off-level areas, variation in ink volume, register slippage, indications of off-setting and color registration.
• Performs some preventative maintenance to press and component parts (e.g. cleaning ink rollers, etc.) when scheduled to maintain proper operation and safety of equipment.
• Performs various preventive maintenance functions on equipment on a scheduled basis in an attempt to maintain equipment and prevent breakdowns.
Minimum Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent is necessary
• Strong mechanical aptitude and/or previous printing experience
Preferred Qualifications:
• Ability to read, interpret, and decipher general written instructions from documents such as work orders, parts orders, safety regulations, operating procedures, or other job specific written documents. Ability to speak and communicate effectively with fellow employees.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to read, utilize, and adjust plate making equipment by using a ruler or other measuring devices.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
