Position Overview
Reporting to the leader for MCP-XD Human Interface Guidelines (HIG) Group, this Experience Architect will work on a design system for creating cohesive and scalable patterns to be leveraged across product lines. The role will require a strategic mindset and ability to collaborate with and influence product teams.
The User Experience Architect at Autodesk is a big-picture thinker and problem-solver, a supportive mentor, and a discipline leader all rolled into one. Our User Experience Architects are seasoned leaders with expertise facilitating conversations to solve complex problems.
Responsibilities
• Participate in defining and driving strategic direction from a user experience perspective
• Serve as both an information resource to executive management regarding existing user experience and as a design “visionary” providing executive management with a grasp of future possibilities
• Evangelize user-centered product design within the company. Work to incorporate user-centered approaches into the company’s product development process
• Evangelize user-centered design to executive management
• Ensure that concrete benefits of user-centered design are measured, documented and communicated to executive management
• Maintain a level of professional expertise through an ongoing program of formal training and individual study of the latest developments in user-centered product design
• Be interested and ready to represent the Company’s design capabilities externally. Such as conferences, Medium articles, etc.
Minimum Qualifications
• Experience driving and articulating a design vision
• 12+ years’ experience in user experience design or related field
• Experience presenting design goals, process, and vision to executive stakeholders
• Bachelors or equivalent work experience; Masters preferred
• Experience implementing personalization and dynamic user experiences
• Ability to work in agile and fast-moving design environment
• Experienced in using user-centered design practices
• Experience creating high-level user experience flows as well as design concepts
• Strong written, presentation and verbal communication skills. Must have the professional polish and poise to communicate at a level appropriate to the audience (customers, staff, peers and senior management)
• Excellent facilitation, negotiation and consensus building abilities
• Ability to act independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments. May supervise the activities of others.
• Experience in creating influential relationships within and across product groups
