Busch Gardens Williamsburg and Water Country USA seeks a dynamic, experienced executive to lead our marketing team.
Primary purpose and function:
• Lead marketing and sales functions for the Williamsburg parks, including brand management, content marketing, advertising, sales, digital marketing, public relations and consumer activation.
• Responsible for development and execution of annual marketing plans to achieve targets for admissions revenue and attendance for both parks.
• Monitor business conditions and implement plan adjustments as necessary.
• In collaboration with Park President, develop business strategies to drive the growth of the Williamsburg parks. Coordinate research and analysis to formulate strategies.
• Participate in planning for new attractions and strategic events, ensuring these experiences and the marketing support behind them are successful in generating attendance and revenue.
• Manage team of 30+ professionals, plus work collaboratively with counterparts in other park locations and the Property Support Center.
• Represent parks on tourism boards and other community organizations. Provide leadership for destination marketing efforts.
• Manage advertising/media budgets for the Williamsburg parks, as well as departmental operating budget.
Candidates with the following qualifications and skills will be considered:
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, communications, business or related subject required. Master’s degree a plus.
• At least 10 years' professional work experience, including at least 5 years’ experience leading a marketing or sales team.
• Proven business-management experience required, including direct responsibility for revenue generation.
• Demonstrated experience creating and managing multi-dimensional consumer marketing campaigns required.
• Successful experience leading diverse teams, including direct and indirect reports, is required.
• Prior work in theme parks, tourism or hospitality preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically. Able to develop focused plans and clearly communicate business strategies.
• Proven success in leading a professional team and coaching for high performance.
• Strong organizational skills. Able to prioritize work and manage multiple projects on varying timelines.
• Record of commitment to collaboration and working effectively as part of team. Demonstrated ability to create and lead cross-functional teams.
• Proven outstanding written, verbal and visual communications skills. Ability to convey messages clearly and persuasively.
• Demonstrated ability to distill data, generate insight and effectively communicate to various types of audiences.
• Proven solid understanding of guest dynamics and key business drivers.
