Jack Hanley Gallery is looking to fill an internship position starting this spring.
We are a small team, interested in creating a hands-on experience for the right candidates. Candidates have demonstrated an interest in contemporary art, are organized, able to work independently, and carry themselves in a professional manner. Some experience using Photoshop and InDesign is a plus but not essential.
Specific responsibilities will include: compiling client emails, exhibition preparation and documentation, the archiving of exhibition materials, office organization, updating the website, some database entry for inventory, basic art-handling (i.e. art storage, protection and organization) and press outreach.
This is a part-time, unpaid internship position, two-three days a week during gallery hours (11-6pm Wednesday-Sunday). School credit can be arranged. The ideal candidate should stay for a minimum of 3 months.

• Learn how exhibitions are conceived, developed, and mounted.
• Learn how the gallery uses its contemporary art exhibitions to engage and educate the public.
• Learn how contemporary art initiatives can be part of larger multi-disciplinary programming.
