Product Manager - Ads - Creative and Data Mining
Summary
Yelp’s business owner products are critical to millions of small business owners, including over 160,000 paying advertisers. We’re looking for a PM to help us build and optimize the best local advertising products in the world. The US online advertising market is $148B. Yelp’s share is $700M a year and growing fast - our advertisers are largely small-to-medium businesses looking to get more customers.
Our advertising system delivers billions of impressions and millions of relevant leads every month. We’re looking for a PM to own a critical part of monetization and leads for business owners - our ad creative system. Our ad creative team is a true full stack team - machine learning experts coupled with client engineers to deliver the relevant ad placements on Yelp.
What You Will Do:
• Work with our all-star engineering team to implement and roll out new ad placements and features - examples include rolling out new review and photo choosing models, new interactive or rich ad formats, or working with our consumer product team to monetize new experiences on Yelp.
• You’ll be working across the full product stack at Yelp - both with designers on new ad placements, and machine learning and infrastructure engineers to ensure that we’re able to serve the placements in a way that’s relevant for users and drives success for business owners.
• Communicate roadmaps and feature releases to executive, sales, business marketing, and other stakeholders at Yelp.
• Manage the analyze/build/test/release process end-to-end.
• Identify, analyze, and prioritize new features and issues.
We Are Looking For:
• Experience working with engineering, product and/or design teams for 1-2 years.
• Experience working on consumer-facing features is a plus.
• Experience within the ads industry is a huge plus.
• Excellent data mining and/or analytical skills. We expect you to roll up your sleeves and be comfortable access and querying our logs and data warehouses.
• User empathy: Sure, you’re trying to figure out where next to apply a gradient boosted model - but you understand that you’re building products for non-technical users and business owners.
• A passion for daily release cycle!
Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.
