The role of Digital Marketing & Sales Manager is responsible for planning, executing and monitoring subscription sales, retention, and engagement strategies to meet revenue objectives. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: planning sales and marketing strategies for local sites, management of the day-to-day coordination and execution of local sales programs through digital marketing, event sales, social media, display advertising, mobile
transactions, search engine marketing and email as directed by the Group Sales and Marketing Manager. Position must effectively collaborate and communicate with local newsroom and brand marketing teams to develop local
growth strategy. The local sales manager should have a working knowledge of digital marketing and will be expected to research, implement and expand on direct marketing sales sources. This position reports to the Group Sales
Manager.
In this role, you will:
• Effectively execute the sales and retention plans to grow subscription-based revenue across multiple platforms at specific properties.
• Ensure that the marketing plan includes effective activities along each stage of the customer funnel, including awareness driving, engagement, new customer acquisition, lead generation, conversion, and loyalty/advocacy for each audience group.
• Ideate new campaigns to Engage and acquire new customers using various techniques and approaches.
• Plays a key role in development, activation strategy and promotion for events in NJ for local properties.
• Proactively drive regionally based marketing programs from planning, execution, to tracking results, using your knowledge of regional needs, ensuring alignment with segment marketing objectives, define programs and success measurement, and deliver programs in-region.
• Collaborate on and monitor integrated direct response campaigns using a variety of digital resources and tools, print ads, direct mail, email, inserts, as well as other internal and external available resources.
• Handle special projects as assigned by the Group Home Delivery Sales Manager.
• Keep current on the latest digital/paid search trends and opportunities to incorporate into ongoing campaign management.
• Expand and develop relationships with vendors, internal customers, external customers and area businesses.
• Interact and collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, news, brand and digital.
Here’s what you need:
• College degree with specialization in marketing and/or communications preferred or equivalent years of experience within field may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Well-versed in knowledge of digital marketing, sales, methods, channels and analysis.
• Strong project management and problem solving skills.
• Excellent rapport and relationship building skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with direct marketing, event sales, social media, display advertising, mobile transactions, search engine marketing and email.
• Proficient with and high level usage of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and a good driving record.
Knowledge of presentation software is a plus.
