Assistant Media Buyer, Local Audio
Job Summary
The candidate will have individual buying responsibilities in stewardship of media buys across media outlets, and accounts. Responsibilities also include participation in campaign management under direction of account manager.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Media schedule development – 30%
◦ Gather rates, construct media buys in Core buying system, and send schedules
◦ Effectively negotiate & steward buys across multiple accounts
◦ Serve as market expert, providing insight to the marketplace conditions and opportunities in specific markets or media outlets
◦ Work closely with sales representatives to promote advantageous relationships
• Media schedule management – 35%
◦ Manage market budgets and deliverables (GRPs, impressions, response data)
◦ React quickly to campaign results, and implement required optimizations as directed
• Account management – 20%
◦ Assist account manager in regard to maintaining budget and clearance spreadsheets and other campaign data
◦ Participate in campaign results meetings/calls with client and strategy teams
• Administrative – 15%
◦ Train and oversee Assistant Buyer and Associate Buyer regarding media fundamentals, policies/procedures, and computer systems
◦ Represent Horizon Media and its clients in a professional manner at media industry events and presentations
Supervisory Responsibilities
Responsible for overseeing a shared Assistant Buyer as direct report
Knowledge and Skills Required
• Experience working in fast-paced advertising/marketing environment
• 2-years experience related to active buying
• Buy-management experience, analyzing all aspects of metrics
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
• Experience with a media-buying computer program
• Effective collaborator and team-player
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
