The Knoxville News Sentinel, part of the USA Today Network -Tennessee, and the leader in delivering engaging news and information, has an immediate opening for a Digital Producer. Producers are the heart and soul of our newsroom. They touch and improve nearly every piece of journalism that we create, and they get it in front of our readers no matter how they connect with us: mobile, desktop, social media and emerging platforms we have just begun to explore.
Typical Job Duties:
• The Producer provides advanced editing, packaging and presentation across all platforms.
• Manages the on-time and accurate delivery of top quality content - with an emphasis on video.
• Works with digital team leadership, editors, reporters and visual journalists to best display content on all platforms, using a high level of judgment and creativity.
• Collaborates with the digital team to maximize social media presence.
• Edits content before publishing to digital platforms or handing off to the Design Studio.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's in Communications, Journalism or equivalent in experience and education; five years of experience writing SEO headlines; and experience with storytelling techniques on multiple platforms.
