The Associate Analyst, Business Intelligence will generate insightful business analysis to develop actionable recommendations to key stakeholders within the Digital Product and Strategy divisions. This position will support senior and executive level management, product managers and division leaders in providing actionable recommendations and objective reporting on the audience engagement, revenue impacts and market trends across the USA TODAY Network. This role provides direction and subject matter expertise for the Business Intelligence group and is a key partner to senior business management. This will also include developing a comprehensive understanding of the company's data needs and developing a supportive analytics strategy, helping map a data collection strategy, providing best practices for implementation, reporting and analysis. The position is based in Tyson's Corner, VA and reports in the Senior Manager, Business Intelligence.
Responsibilities:
• Provides actionable digital analysis with summarized key insights and recommendations to improve and optimize the efforts of our stakeholders.
• Research, develop and maintain effective analysis of user behavioral patterns. Expand learning about content to track trends and metrics based on insights across multiple digital products, apps and websites. Accurately communicate key findings to leading stakeholders.
• Analyze aspects of Gannett’s digital product suite against industry competitive set and provide actionable recommendations to improve performance and digital monetization; building, maintaining and managing digital predictions and forecasts to help support goals.
• Leverages best-practices for data studies, analysis and discovery around new data sources or new uses for existing data sources.
• Ensures that analyses remain responsive to current user practices and emerging technologies.
• Advance the data analytics capabilities of the team through increased statistical and research knowledge, incorporating analysis into everyday business solutions and decisions.
• Manage and leveraging large and complex data sets from various data sources.
• Communicate complex concepts in a simple way with advanced presentation/visualization capabilities.
Experience:
• 0-2 years of experience in performing necessary job or project duties as assigned. Strong research, analytic, presenting and speaking skills are sought, as is the capacity to interact effectively with senior management both inside and outside the company.
• Bachelors degree in one of the following: business, economics, marketing, statistics, research or finance.
• Experience with data sets and working with data mining and reporting tools is a plus but not required.
• Must be able to work well in a team environment and with multiple internal and external customers.
