Job Summary:
CAA ICON is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager with a combination of technical and operational accounting skills to expand CAA ICON’s Finance and Accounting team and participate in our dynamic growth. Based in Denver, CO this position will be focused on the day-to-day operations and tactical accounting responsibilities with an emphasis on timely completion to assist company executives with financial decision-making. This is a hands-on position also responsible for reviewing expense reports, interfacing with project field teams to ensure seamless communication and compliance with client travel and expense standards, and supporting the travel and expense management system to maximize efficiency and productivity. The position reports into the Business Operations team and directly to the Senior Director of Finance.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare monthly financial reporting requirements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Receipts, A/R and A/P aging reports)
• Complete account reconciliations, analyze balance sheet accounts and manage accruals, adjustments, and reserves
• Maintain financial schedules and ledgers in compliance with company policies and procedures
• Provide mentoring, coaching and supervision to CAA ICON's accounting department
• Complete the daily reporting of cash receipts
• Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation in accordance with GAAP
• Support the completion of financial statement audits
• Assist in the development and improvement of accounting processes, as well as compliance with new accounting standards
• Assist with the implementation of financial controls and processes
• Review and approve expense reports
• Collaborate and support implementation of best practices for the travel and expense program
• Assist with special projects and ad-hoc requests, as necessary
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has supervisory responsibility
Job Location and Hours:
• This is a full-time position based in the Denver Tech Center
• Normal days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• This position may require long hours and weekend work on occasion
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business with an emphasis in Accounting, or a related field
• 6-8 years accounting experience
• Public accounting experience a plus
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred
• Previous experience as an accounting supervisor or manager required
• Strong understanding of travel and expense program management
• Exceptional knowledge of accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Strong organizational skills; pays strict attention to detail
• Previous experience utilizing financial management software packages: Sage and MS Dynamics GP preferred, but not required
• Excellent computer skills; experience in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, complex projects and meet deadlines
• Experience managing processes and projects that involve collaborating with teams across the organization
