Editorial Assistant, Woman’s Day
Woman’s Day is seeking an organized and enthusiastic Editorial Assistant to join our team. This EA will serve dual roles as an assistant to the Editor-in-Chief and as an editorial assistant for the features department. Must be a college graduate (please note: This job is not open to May 2018 grads) with internship experience at a consumer magazine; administrative experience is a plus. Job Duties:
• Assist with story research and occasionally write feature sidebars
• Assist with creation of the Family and Inspire sections, including coverage of pets, community heroes and family activities
• Represent the Editor-in-Chief in a professional manner to company and outside executives
• Manage the EIC’s calendar
• Perform administrative duties for EIC, including scheduling, expenses, travel, mail
• Assist with research and presentations for EIC
Desired Skills:
• Experience working on feature stories for a magazine or newspaper
• Comfortable with cold-calling experts and conducting interviews
• Unflappable and professional manner
• Excellent organizational skills
