Position Summary
The IT organization within Autodesk, Digital Enterprise Services (DES), is looking for an Internal Communicator to help create quality communications for the organization. This person will be responsible for planning, developing, and implementing communications internal and external to the DES organization. These communications will support our services and applications, increase employee engagement, and strengthen our internal brand.
This person will have a passion for storytelling, and have a creative side, all while understanding technical details and supporting an IT organization.
Responsibilities
• Writing, editing, and producing communications with the goal of increasing the company’s awareness of our services and highlighting the value that we bring to the company
• Proactively research, recommend and help implement new/emerging intranet, SharePoint, web design and storytelling technologies and solutions. Experiment with various communications mediums to help keep content fresh and interesting
• Develops content for a wide variety of communications deliverables such as newsletter articles, FAQs, surveys, talking points, leadership messages, how-to information, company announcements, website content, video content, PowerPoint presentations, blog postings, and more
• In addition to creating original content, this role edits material written by other DES team members; revising, rewriting, and reorganizing for clarity, ease of comprehension, global criteria, consistency, and effectiveness
• Develops and drives internal marketing campaigns and promotions (for example, increasing awareness around mobile phone costs, information security, sustainability, etc.)
• Develops and executes communication strategy and plans for IT projects of varying sizes and complexity
• Implements communications effectiveness research methods such as surveys, interviews, and other feedback mechanisms
• Manages meeting planning and content creation (for example, team “all hands meetings”)
• Manages the design, content, and delivery of company newsletters as needed
• Manages the content on the intranet (SharePoint) site and maintaining it as an effective communications vehicle, including innovating as needed
• Develops templates and standards for communications deliverables
Minimum Qualifications
• Ability to articulate and communicate professionally with excellent writing and editing skills
• Ability to translate technical knowledge into compelling and easily consumable content
• Ability to plan and execute on multiple projects simultaneously in an organized fashion
• Proficient in communicating to a global, culturally diverse audience
• Familiar with current communications trends and best practices
• Expert with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint
• Experience with Microsoft SharePoint is highly desirable
• Experience with social media tools; familiar with best practices
• Experience in audio and video conferencing methods and tools
• Experience with digital video recording, editing, and production is desired
• Understanding of different communication channels, including emerging media and which channels are most effective for desired outcomes
• Expected to work well both independently and collaboratively
This person will be based in San Rafael (preferred) or San Francisco and commute between those two sites is expected.
