Assistant to the Editor in Chief, Town & Country
Town & Country seeks a super-organized, detail-oriented multitasker to provide administrative and strategic support to its editor in chief, essentially doing whatever it takes to keep her office running smoothly: schedule appointments; maintain calendar and keep EIC informed of schedule every day; field phone calls and take accurate messages; file expense reports on a timely basis and in keeping with Hearst’s policies and procedures; work with art department to organize monthly PowerPoint presentations of each issue; meet and greet visitors at all levels of seniority; make and update travel arrangements; assist the managing editor in scheduling of edit and art meetings; coordinate special events; send out invites; mail out issues; submit monthly copyright form; handle staff attendance; and other duties as assigned (research for specific projects; miscellaneous errands).
Must be a college graduate (please note that this job is not open to May 2018 grads) with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment; very strong organizational, issue-resolution, and decision-making skills; sound judgment and discretion (need to handle confidential material); and impeccable speaking ability and strong writing skills.
Prior experience with administrative duties during the course of an internship at a magazine or in another related field is preferred. Must have knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel; knowledge of K4 or Woodwing production system is helpful.
