Position Type: Regular - Full-Time
Position Summary:
The Vice President (VP) of Safety and Security oversees all safety and security programs and efforts across all SiriusXM locations, including physical, architecture, compliance, incident response, disaster recovery and infrastructure. This position will provide executive-level representation to ensure that security interests are championed and prioritized in alignment with the needs of the business. The VP will be responsible for the design, establishment, and maintenance of security standards, policies, and procedures; working in concert with senior leaders throughout the company to strike the ideal balance of security and productivity to protect the safety of the employees in a fast paced organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop, implement, communicate and maintain a comprehensive company-wide security strategy and program.
• Direct security efforts across the company. Advise and collaborate with senior leadership in information technology, human resources, communications, legal, facilities, and other departments.
• Devise policies and procedures regarding areas such as business continuity planning, loss prevention, fraud prevention and privacy.
• Visit all SiriusXM office locations to establish and manage an ongoing Risk Assessment program to define, identify, and classify critical assets, assess threats and vulnerabilities to those assets, and implement appropriate safeguards.
• Create a secure environment while ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local codes required for building occupancy for all SiriusXM offices.
• Ensure that security team members have and maintain the resources needed to perform their duties including, but not limited to, tools, equipment, supplies, training, and certifications.
• Build, motivate and lead a professional security team attuned to the organizational culture, proactive to the business needs and committed to integrity and excellence.
• Work with other SiriusXM departments to address their daily and event specific security needs.
• Design, build and oversee maintenance of access control systems and other security-based equipment.
• Lead the execution of security related projects and manage departmental finances ensuring achievement of performance goals within approved budget guidelines.
• Ensure that all SiriusXM offices are compliant with applicable OSHA standards and building-associated security personnel maintain the safety of staff and guests within allocated budgets.
• Develop, implement and manage annual training for SiriusXM staff including, but not limited to, evacuation procedures, threat response, fire guard and FSD certification coordination, and all other safety related training.
• Research, recommend, and implement approved changes and upgrades to SiriusXM's security systems and procedures.
• Assist other departments with proposed projects and initiatives and ensure that scope of each project is in line with SiriusXM security policies and procedures.
• Participate in company audits as required in accordance with PCI compliance requirements.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with national, regional and local law, investigative, emergency response and other government agencies as well as with private sector counterparts.
• Manage all security incident responses, including maintaining an incident response reporting procedure and overseeing all investigations of any security violations or fraud throughout the company.
• Ensure appropriate safety and security coverage during town halls and other special SiriusXM events which may take place after hours, over the weekends and at both on-site and off-site locations.
• Provide the CAO with regular security updates.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Supervise team of security personnel.
Minimum Qualifications:
• 15+ years of experience in a senior-level law enforcement or other security management role with heavy exposure to live events and a focus on exceptional customer service and safety through both physical and digital channels.
• 5+ years of management/supervisory experience.
• Bachelor's level degree or equivalent work experience required.
• Certified Protection Professional (CPP), active membership in the American Society for Industrial Security preferred.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule inclusive of days, weekends, nights and holidays as required.
Requirements and General Skills:
• Extensive experience working with federal, state, local and private sector entities.
• Proven ability to assess, develop and successfully execute strategic internal and external security plans and quickly adapt to change as required by different events.
• Ability to compile and execute company and departmental standard operating procedures (SOP's).
• Ability to effectively articulate security and budgetary initiatives to executive leadership.
• Must have the ability to develop team members and effectively grow a security program.
• Detailed knowledge of business continuity and disaster recovery principles and best practices.
• Ability to and willingness to travel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to project professionalism in all situations.
• Commitment to "internal client" and customer service principles.
• Willingness to take initiative and to follow through on projects.
• Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
Technical Skills:
• Knowledge of CCTV, surveillance equipment, access control systems, alarms and radio communications required.
• Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
