The Courier-Journal which is apart of the USA TODAY NETWORK in Louisville seeks a Newsroom Content Coach who can help Journalists raise the quality and impact of their work. The Newsroom Content Coach helps Reporters and visual Journalists sharpen their focus, seek relevant details through varied reporting techniques, understand their audience and present their stories, photos, videos and other content in a compelling way on social, mobile and other forms of media.
• The Newsroom Content Coach emphasizes front-end editing but involves line editing as needed depending on the story's complexity or the journalist's development. This newsroom is dedicated to telling powerful stories, celebrating community success and challenging policy makers to account for their actions.
• Must be a passionate “watchdog” who embraces collaboration across the newsroom to ensure we reach loyal and new readers. The right candidate will inspire and cultivate great ideas, identify and give voice to untold narratives, and support the defense of the First Amendment.
• The Newsroom Content Coach will work directly with a News Director, Planning Editor and Engagement Editor. An ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of work experience in a newsroom with editing, creating content and assisting Reporters.
• Must have 3+ years of impeccable line-editing skills, digital media and a deep understanding that quality journalism must be tailored for different platforms.
