POSITION SUMMARY
The Payroll Specialist is primarily responsible for processing all centralized payroll cycles (hourly and salary) including but not limited to deductions, direct deposit, benefits, tax payments, and other miscellaneous reports for distribution and/or payment purposes.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following statements are intended as general examples of the duties of this position and are not all-inclusive for specific positions. Other reasonable duties may be assigned.
• Coordinates accurate data for processing requirements from centralized locations. Works with the location HR, Benefit, Finance, and Payroll staff to determine needs and appropriate processing steps.
• Completes all required steps of processing cycle (data entry, review, balancing, printing, direct deposit, funding reports).
• Performs audit reports and analysis to check the accuracy of the payroll cycle and team member setup data.
• Manages the payroll system to the General Ledger and prepares the proper reports and balances the payroll accounts trial balance.
• Assists in processing year-end W-2s and other mandatory filings, as required.
• Resolves inquiries from corporate team members and property administration regarding payroll processes and general payroll inquiries. Also field any inquiries from property team members as specific situations arise.
• Assists with departmental user guides and procedure manuals.
• Assist with software and departmental training.
• Coordinate required audit data relating to payroll controls and payroll processing for both internal and external auditors.
• Keeps organized and accurate backup records for support and audit information.
• Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
1. Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) desired.
2. Seven plus years of payroll processing and record keeping experience required.
