ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION:
Distinguished Concerts International New York (DCINY) specializes in producing large-scale, internationally relevant programs in iconic venues such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts and Walt Disney Concert Hall – we are thrilled to be presenting over twenty events as part of our 10th Anniversary Concert Season in 2018.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
DCINY is seeking a dynamic and outgoing individual with a driving passion for music who can thrive in a client-facing sales role. A strong musical background is a must (preferably as an area of study at the university level), with previous sales experience highly preferred. Strengths and skills in research, admin, and the enjoyment of talking to people by phone and in person a plus.
The Program Development Assistant plays an integral part in the day-to-day operations of the Program Development team, and will specifically assist the team Directors in identifying and qualifying performing groups (both choral and instrumental) for possible inclusion on DCINY’s Concert Series.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist in development and research of future programming for the series, including liaison with performing artists and ensembles by phone, email and in person.
• Responsible for correspondence, letters of invitation, and general written communications at the request of the development team.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date information of clients by entering and updating data in office software (Salesforce) and also keeping hardcopy files.
• Occasional availability on evenings and concert weekends.
COMPETENCIES and QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, the individual selected should have:
• Bachelor/Advanced Degree in music or music administration or related discipline strongly preferred.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and listening skills. Ability to successfully multi-task, excel in a fast paced environment and be attentive and precise in details.
• 1-2 years of related experience in office environment
• Computer Literacy: Familiarity with PC platforms and ability to work with MS Office required. Knowledge of Salesforce and/or CRM software a plus.
• Ability to manage phone and in-person inquiries in a professional, patient and friendly manner.
• Fluency in languages other than English a plus.
