The Bose Professional Systems Division is in the midst of a period of exciting growth. We are looking for a highly motivated Mechanical Designer interested in applying their skills in a fast paced, dynamic learning environment. Flexibility, agility, and curiosity are key characteristics of the technical personnel we are seeking to hire.
As a Designer you will be a member of a multi-discipline product development team which will develop products from concept to production. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining the component model files, the assembly model files as well as any documentation for these products.
Responsibilities:
• Using CAD solid modeling best practices, assist Mechanical Engineers in various mechanical related activities throughout the product development cycle.
• Create and maintain the documentation required to manufacture these products at internal or external manufacturing sites.
• Investigate pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, interchangeability and cost.
• Create and maintain bill of materials in a Product Data Management system.
• Provide support for development and testing of prototypes.
• Check layouts and drawings for clarity, conformity to standards, procedures, etc.
• Interact with internal and external customers to assess their needs, and develop products that meet their requirements.
• Meet internal and external customer deliverables in a timely and efficient manner.
Requirements:
• At a minimum an Associate’s degree in mechanical design or related field.
• Curiosity, intelligence and energy.
• Minimum 3-4 years design and drafting experience including 1-2 years of extensive design documentation work.
• Expertise in use of CAD utilizing 3D modeling. Knowledge of NX11 or higher and Solidworks is a plus.
• Knowledge of metals, plastics, machining, casting and molding.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of WindChill is a plus.
• Ability to work both alone and in a team environment.
