Production Assistant – Brooklyn, NY
Fee: $18 - $20/hr – Contract based on experience
Hours: Fifteen (15) hours a week
Minimum Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree
Start Date: Immediate
Grammy Award winning artist Dan Zanes and Claudia Eliaza are seeking a forward thinking highly motivated Production Assistant. Applicant must be able to commit to a 15-hour workweek, 3 days a week at their home office located in Brooklyn. The ideal candidate should thrive in a dynamic environment, while maintaining a polished and professional demeanor. The position requires an exceptional ability to coordinate and disseminate the flow of information with professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality. The applicant must be responsible, creative and have the ability to self-initiate tasks and anticipate the needs of not only Claudia and Dan but of both internal and external clients. Should be able to work well independently and as a team with the ability to balance and prioritize multiple tasks and projects without sacrificing quality. Must have excellent written and verbal skills. Have strong understanding of time management, social media, research via the Internet, high proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Applications and Mac OS, as well as, a willingness to learn other specific programs and software applicable to the office. The applicant must have an intense and passionate talent for organization, problem solving, multi-tasking, creativity, and interpersonal skills to help move Dan and Claudia’s work and vision forward.
Primary duties include, but are not limited to:
• Managing/Coordinating calendar, including scheduling meetings
• Tracking phone and email correspondence
• Assisting with the coordination of projects, performances, tours and events
• Creating and maintaining office documents
• General office and administrative duties
• Answering and organizing emails in a timely fashion
• Advancing production for shows
• Updating the website and social media
• Organizing tour merchandise
• Working directly with the record company, manager, booking agent, and accountant
• Formatting and sending newsletters
• Coordinating recording sessions, production of merchandise and promo materials
• Shooting and uploading video lessons
• Create, update and distribute daily reports.
• Assist with production in all areas
Skills and Requirements:
• Must have minimum of 2 years experience as a Production Assistant
• Excellent follow up and organization skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Develop and enact social media strategies to promote performances
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet task deadlines
• High level of professionalism and the ability to handle confidential information
• Skilled at managing projects with tight deadlines and many details
• Must be detail-oriented, accurate, and thorough in work
• Must be a team player with a positive, can-do attitude, but also able to work independently without a lot of supervision
• Effective trouble-shooting skills and good judgment
• Self motivated and eager learner
• Able to commit to the work schedule
• Able to perform duties and make decisions under pressure.
• Flexible during times of change
• Ability to process suggestions, corrections and feedback professionally
• Must be dependable and punctual with a professional personal presentation
• Demonstrated interest in New York City’s cultural landscape and a passion for the arts. Previous experience with non-profits, performance venues or arts administration/production is strongly preferred. Internship or volunteer experience will be considered.
