We’re looking for a social media guru to join azcentral’s team to help identify, create and optimize shareable content – with special emphasis on videos – on our brand platforms, particularly Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube. If you’re constantly checking your mobile device to see how your most recent post performed, and already thinking about what you could do to boost engagement and reach on your next one, we want to hear from you.
You should have a demonstrated ability to grow audience – both socially and on our related website – and be creative, innovative and willing to experiment.
Top applicants will have video editing skills, a command of Chartbeat and Crowdtangle, and a willingness to collaborate across the newsroom and the USA TODAY NETWORK.
You also should:
• Be as adept at creating and posting great social content as you are at finding it using tools such as Hootsuite, Crowdtangle and DataMinr.
• Understand social video metrics.
• Be excited to see the brand’s content go viral and passionate about the success of the brand as a whole.
• Be team player with excellent communication skills, quick to respond and receptive to feedback.
• Collaborate with our social, digital and content teams to brainstorm strategies for presenting work on social.
• Identify trending stories relevant to our mission and collaborate with our editorial team for coverage and promotion.
• Have a bachelor’s degree
• Two years of experience
• Be able to produce content that is clean, accurate, and “publication ready.”
