Job Title:
Senior Manager, Business Development
The Senior Manager, Business Development is responsible for:
• Achieving revenue targets through new client wins and selected organic account growth
• Strategic leadership of pitch teams
• Maintaining crucial prospect relationships through meetings, calls and emails
• Managing and writing proposals and RFI responses
• Working with account teams on pricing and deal making
• Reporting on progress to internal management
• Passionate about transformational digital programs
In partnership with the Director, Business Development, the ideal candidate will drive new business development growth,
direct all targeted outreach and promote SapientRazorfish’s leadership position as a full service agency with a deep and
unprecedented history in providing a wide range of digital marketing, technology enablement and innovative, omnichannel
solutions.
Accountable for:
• Winning business that helps us achieve our “Work Focus” and revenue goals at appropriate sold-as margins
• Leading pitch efforts from a sales practices perspective: pitch strategy and win themes, customer research and cultivation of client-side support, competitive intelligence, partner and alliance management, P.S and Publicis collaboration
• Working with Director of Business Development, Financial Operations and Delivery Leadership to qualify leads and set pursuit budgets
• Work with Delivery Leadership and Staffing to assign the right team for pitches and proposals
• Managing to the pursuit budget
• Accurately report the status of all active business opportunities in SalesForce and in regular Team Sales Calls
Essential Skills and Capabilities:
• Significant digital agency or system integrator sales experience (10 - 12 years)
• Substantial experience in consultative selling
• Strong functional knowledge in the areas of Digital Strategy and Marketing, Digital Customer Experience, E-Commerce, Content and Collaboration, and Brand/Customer Insights
• Passion and/or understanding for the use of innovative, breakthrough technologies
• Demonstrated experience as a motivated direct seller and relationship builder
• Strong track record of building business with prospective clients
• Ability to pitch comprehensive advertising and/or technology solutions over the phone to knowledgeable, high-end prospects
• Ability to create out-of-the-box direct sales tactics and related market outreach centered on the complete and accurate telling of the SapientRazorfish story
• Highly collaborative and able to partner with cross-disciplinary teams to provide both direct and support wide range of
business & market development activities
• High energy, relentless drive and passion to succeed
• Possesses courage, creativity and perseverance with respect to the business development process and life stages
associated with converting prospects to active clients
• Exceptional oral communication, written communication and interpersonal skills
• Effective time management and organizational skills
• Strong secondary research skills (e.g. Hoovers, LinkedIn)
• Manage multiple tasks and effectively work in a fast paced, sales oriented, team environment with little supervision
• Working knowledge and fluency using Salesforce.com
• Clearly understands & communicates SapientRazorfish’s value proposition
• Broad knowledge of current events and industry trends impacting the overall sales process
• Self-motivated, innovative & resourceful person that operates well in a fast paced environment
Performance Measures:
• Proven track record of selling a suite of agency or agency like products/services through a combination of traditional direct selling and innovative prospecting solutions
• Proven record of meeting or exceeding realistic sales goals
• Marry an expertise of a traditional sales approach with a creative and non-traditional approach to market development so as to successfully attract customers across SapientRazorfhish offering mix
Experience Guidelines:
• 8 -10 years of experience of account management and business development in an agency or consulting environment.
• 3+ years of client executive experience with primary accountability for peer-level client relationships at the Director and Vice President levels
• Experienced with multiple campaign lifecycles from business development to final delivery
• Experience mobilizing teams with multiple discipline representation (especially technology, creative, media and strategy)
• Frequent travel may be required
Education:
Bachelor’s degree required
