Job Description
Position Overview
The SVP Director leads tactical planning and investment for a large/complex global client, spanning multiple brands. The SVP oversees a team of 10+ professionals in the conception and delivery of innovative, business-building marketing solutions across all media. This involves the development and activation of marketing plans, using insights to inform the development of plans, and flawless execution on all fronts. The ability to navigate a complex regulated business category is a crucial asset. As a team leader and marketplace advisor, the position includes frequent, high level client exposure. The SVP requires high visibility and relationships at media companies (especially digital including all video) in order to drive business. Facilitating peer to peer collaboration internally across mutli-disciplined teams is a key asset for this position.
Responsibilities
Innovation and Growth
• Develops and maintains strong vendor relationships (esp. digital) across US marketplaces to cultivate integrated marketing platforms and find solutions to client challenges
• Continuously seeks innovative ideas/solutions to champion to clients
• Inspires team to develop digital approaches that take into account industry regulations and helps navigate through those
Client Management & Talent Capability
• Builds and hones deep and trusting relationships with decision makers/influencers and fosters new business opportunities
• Effectively manages cross-functional initiatives and relationships and champions cross-team sharing.
• Manages relationships with global activation teams to both share best practices and to represent the US interests in global client meetings
• Encourages and promotes opportunities to increase efficiency and effectiveness of both what and how we meet client deliverables
• Drives continual evolution of high performance culture through active networking with prospective candidates, performance management and employee engagement
Qualifications
• Bachelors degree
• Progressive levels of responsibility and business acumen in marketing and communications
• Demonstrated ability to establish high levels of trust and credibility internally and externally and influence others to action
• Team oriented – approachable and viewed as coach and mentor to others
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills – effectively presents formal POV internally and externally
• Strong leadership skills and general management orientation
• Critical assessor of talent – builds and motivates high performing teams
• Demonstrated critical thinking skill and strong problem-solving skills – navigates effectively through difficult issues, builds required consensus to drive business needs and results
• High results orientation and able to effectively juggle and prioritize many competing demands from different clients/divisions
• Able to establish and manage client investment budgets
• Functional expertise in
◦ Overall digital media including “data driven marketing”
◦ Video across all screens
◦ Strong interest in gaining fluency in activation all media types (if such prior experience doesn’t exist)
