I. Job Summary
| Major goals and objectives.
Execute Corporate Communications initiatives such as:
• Prepare Powerpoint presentations for Board, Long Range Strategic Planning and corporate meetings
• Write news releases and handle media inquiries and proactively pitch stories to the news media
• Serve as webmaster for company internet and intranet sites and CC department-specific initiatives
• Write and edit employee communications materials
• Assist with Special Events as needed
II. Essential Job Functions
Weight% Accountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable Results
30% Prepare Powerpoint presentations for Board meetings and Long Range Strategic Planning meetings –Create presentations for 4 quarterly Board meetings and 12 monthly LRSP meetings, including slide design and text writing. Coordinate distribution as well.
30% Serve as Webmaster for Company Internet and Intranet sites, and CC department specific initiatives – Responsible for creating content for web, daily updating of sites, pushing news on social media platforms, and other assignments as needed.
20% Write news releases and handle media inquiries and proactively pitch stories to the news media –Handle a number of press initiatives, including initiatives from Successful Farming and WOOD magazines; Rebuilding Together and other volunteer initiatives; and others as needed.
15% Edit and write copy for employee communications materials, including newsletters, all-employee e-mails and intranet sites.
5% Assist on special events as needed, including employee events, customer visits and product previews.

III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements| All must be met to be considered.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, advertising, marketing or related field.
Experience: 1-2 years communications field experience preferred; recent grad with extensive internship experience acceptable.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Professional communication skills, a track record of success, ability to perform in time-sensitive situations, and willingness to learn are critical. Excellent writing and editorial skills. Strong organizational and project management abilities. PC skills including proficiency in PowerPoint and with online tools such as Drupal and Adobe. Self-starter with problem solving skills. Service-oriented and able to work independently. Team player with the ability to work effectively with diverse personalities and opinions/preferences. Must project a winning persona to instill confidence in all audiences.
