Requirements
Purpose of the Role:
Technology (Tech) Lead will interface with key stakeholders and apply technical proficiency across different stages of the Software Development Life Cycle including Requirements Elicitation, Application architecture definition and Design across Business Systems. Tech Lead will play an important role in creating the high level design artifacts and will also deliver high quality code deliverables for a module, lead validation for all types of testing and support activities related to implementation, transition and warranty.
Manages technical operations relationship for all Business Systems and data. Oversees the application architecture and detailed design work of development team and to ensure that all activities are completed with high quality, in alignment with SLAs and to customer specifications.
Monitors system health, data hygiene and application adoption, and providing relevant notifications. Responsible for designing and implementing improved processes and operational policies. Recommends changes to products or services to fulfil customer needs.
Involves close interaction with end users, business stakeholders, analysts, engineers and engineering teams across the company. Is expected to be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) of technical systems and relevant business processes, becoming a thought leader in the space, and sought out for his or her knowledge, opinions, and recommendations in these areas.
Requirements:
• Define and coordinate the technical tasks for the development of the software and/or interfaces
• Assist in budget for internal hardware/software
• Create/Manage architecture diagrams/plans
• Serve as the interface between the developers, project manager and stakeholders
• Lead, coach and act as a mentor for the developers on the team
• Has strong technical skills and often develops the architecturally significant components of the software system and/or interfaces
• Ensure all the developers understand the big picture because their work has implications
• Know the status of the developer’s work and detect slippage
• Communicate technical issues/decisions effectively to PM and Sponsor by using business terms
• Work closely with other senior members of the engineering teams across the company to set strategy, define priorities and ensure collaboration and clear communication
• Build and maintain expert functional knowledge of all supported systems and data, including sales, marketing automation, content management and customer service
• Ensure that Business Systems applications, systems and data meet business requirements and fulfill end-user requirements based on KPIs and continuous stakeholder interaction
• Stay current with all new functionality, enhancements and fixes deployed to the environment and ensure they are properly supported
• Maintain full knowledge of, and drive to resolution, all “critical issues” including scope of the problem, potential root cause, planned or anticipated solution, dependencies, user impact, status and target resolution date
• Proactively recommend, develop and communicate fixes and improvements
• Obtain and maintain strong business knowledge to facilitate problem solving and issue resolution
• Work collaboratively with business stakeholders/end users to perform analysis, propose solutions and resolve issues that satisfy business requirements
• Define and agree policies and SLAs with the business. Proactively drive on-time resolution and provide transparency into status during the issue resolution lifecycle while working closely with Technology Operations team
• Deliver business stakeholder communications and updates via appropriate channels
• Demonstrate platform functionality to users and team members, evaluate data based on reports or other tools, analyze issues, evaluate impact of requested changes and make recommendations based on this expertise
Qualifications:
• Bachelors Degree
• Overall minimum 8-10 years' experience
• Experience supporting complex, enterprise technology platforms and data
• Strong knowledge of CRM systems, ideally Salesforce.com
• Understanding the role and principles of Enterprise Architecture
• Experience using Amazon Web Services and cloud technology
• Experience in relational and non-relational (NoSQL) database platforms – specifically MS SQL Server, MySQL/Postgres, DynamoDB, MongoDB, Marklogic.
• Solid understanding of taxonomy and metadata enrichment processes for content across the enterprise.
• Experience with Content Management solutions (Digital Asset Management, CMS, Compliance, etc.) preferably in publishing industry
• Experience in data design for standards and schema specifications – specifically JSON, XML Experience with enterprise reporting and analytics platforms (e.g. Tableau, Microstrategy, Qlik, Power BI)
• Experience with Data Warehousing, ETL tools, Data cleansing, data transformation, data enrichment
• Solid understanding of AWS Cloud or Infrastructure
• A thought leader, someone sought out for his or her knowledge, opinions, and recommendations
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including experience writing concise and relevant end-user communications, e.g. service notifications, known issue updates, status on planned fixes, etc.
• Excellent listening and interpersonal skills
• Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
• Ability to conduct research into system issues and products
• Project management, time management and organizational skill

Preferred Qualifications:
• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification a plus
• Solutions Architecture (TOGAF) Certification a plus
• Experience as a Technical Lead, Solutions/Enterprise Architect, Sr. Developer, Director Engineering
• Publishing industry experience
