What the job is:
• Manage a team of chargeback analysts. Plan, assign, and monitor the workflow of the department to maintain optimal efficiency and cost effectiveness while ensuring that production standards are met and maintained. Assist in working chargeback cases as needed.
• Review/create operational procedures and make recommendations/changes to improve efficiency and reduce fraud and chargeback losses
• Develop and produce performance monitoring MIS and reports to senior management as well as internal and external clients. Perform complex analysis and/or modeling to identify patterns or trends of fraud and chargeback activity. Analyze loss data and recommend/implement appropriate loss prevention strategies. Review and analyze incoming fraud and chargeback activity to assist in rule writing.
• Serve as a key contact to investigators and fraud management regarding prevention processes, providing direction, interpretation, and advice on fraud prevention systems and processes. Evaluate the current detection systems and recommend changes, including the development of supporting business cases as well as coordination and implementation of these changes with the Information Technology group
• Identify and resolve complex technical operational and systems issues and recommend actions or systems based solutions to minimize the risk of fraud losses.
• Maintain key internal and external customer relationships up through the senior and executive management level as well as maintain a working relationship with peers in the merchant and credit card industry.
• Lead the creation of reports as requested by clients, implement state of the art analysis tools and forecast processes that ensure global delivery of actionable information as necessary. Lead fraud projects to increase fraud detection and chargeback recoveries.

What a qualified candidate should possess:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required. 7 to 9 years work experience in a relevant fraud investigation/detection or banking environment
• Requires strong analytical and problem solving skills as well as a strong attention to detail and the ability to think outside of the box. Project management skills a must.
• Demonstrates high energy/creativity and an aptitude for fraud loss mitigation; and a relentless customer focus
• Ability to develop and monitor performance metrics for staff and systems and to concisely report data required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
• Basic understanding of chargeback regulatory guidelines and compliance and basic Microsoft office knowledge required. SQL is a plus.
• Team player, checking in daily for fraud or chargebacks and willingness to go the extra mile to get the job done.
