Job Description

Supervisors are responsible for interviewing, hiring, training and development of new Digital Campaign Specialists Campaign Managers. The Supervisor owns the relationships and communication with the business units they are assigned. Mastery of the digital workflow between business unit and ad operations is required to provide end-to-end advertising campaign management. This position is responsible for ensuring campaigns and creative are executed on-time, accurately, monitored and deliver successfully. Supervisors can also be assigned special project work and will participate in the on-call rotation. This Supervisor role will oversee MT and PT markets.
Responsibilities
• Supervise Team of Digital Campaign Specialist’s: Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training and development of Digital Campaign Specialists.
• Support all Business Units assigned to their team
• Business Unit Ownership & Communication: Own the relationship with the business units that have been assigned and be the primary communicator from ad operations. Supervisors should be able to handle all questions/issues as they arise without having to escalate to their Manager.
• Business Unit / Digital Ad Ops Workflow: Must have mastered the digital workflow that connects the business units they support and the ad servers we maintain to fulfill buys across the TEGNA ad network.
• Campaign Scheduling and Reporting: Must fully understand all aspects of the ad servers and how to appropriately schedule campaigns. Must also be able to pull detailed reports out of ad servers for business units.
• Creative Scheduling: Must fully understand all aspects of the ad servers, ad specs, creative templates and ad tags to ensure proper execution of creative elements to campaigns.
• Delivery Management: Must have in depth knowledge of ad server delivery logic to troubleshoot delivery issues and provide effective solutions to manage campaign delivery in full.
• Urgent Support: Provides urgent support to their business units as requested. Also, participates in ad ops on call rotation to assist markets in off hour requests.
• Mentor staff on key job responsibilities and projects.
• Inventory Management- Assists with inventory department as tasks arise
• Project Management: Assist ad ops manager on special projects and testing as assigned.
• Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot scheduling, trafficking and delivery issues as they arise.
1. ACCOUNTABILITIES

Supervisors manage a team of 5 – 7 Digital Campaign Specialists and own the relationships and communications with the team’s assigned business units.
Focus and Impact.Describe the position’s area of focus and principal responsibility for business and operations planning. Identify whether the position is strategic, operational or tactical with regard to planning. Indicate whether planning is short, medium or long term.
This is a management position focused on managing business units, Digital Campaign Specialists, campaigns, supporting advanced troubleshooting, and understanding reporting. This position at times will lead projects and initiatives and resolve issues with clients directly. It has on-call responsibilities and assists with training less advanced staff. . Works is in the form of short- and mid-term assignments.
Autonomy and Complexity. Indicate the types of problems and issues faced by the position, and the level of independence the position has over product creation, process improvements, decision-making, resource allocation, etc. Define the authority the position has over budgets, revenue, etc. Indicate the types of judgments made regarding the work.
This position implements the daily activities of advertisement upload and inventory control, and monitors advertisement posting schedules to ensure that content and insertion orders are received with sufficient lead time to allow preparation for posting. This position demonstrates proficiency in most areas of campaign management and has in-depth specialty in some areas. Able to anticipate and prevent problems from happening and has working knowledge of the legal and contractual requirements of advertisement trafficking. This role also works on managing the National ad campaign business. This position is minimally supervised and work is reviewed at defined milestones.

Supervisors manage 5 – 7 Digital Campaign Specialists, support 5 – 15 business units, and manage numerous relationships within each business unit. They also handle hundreds of contracts for which we assume ownership and must deliver in full. This role also requires work for the national ad ops business and inventory management team.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical related discipline.
3+ years of working experience in ad serving platforms or ad trafficking. (3 - 5 years of practical work experience in digital technology or advertising can be substituted for college education).

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Flash, HTML and Javascript knowledge.
• Previous experience in digital ad serving technologies.
This position is part of a team that provides business critical operations for TEGNA. There are four shifts aligned by time zone. Shifts range from 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. EST Monday - Friday. This position will work the MT or PT time zone time shift.
