Summary:
The Global Operations Real Estate and Facilities team is responsible for delivering transformative projects, Renovations, new offices, Capital projects, facilities services, sub tenant management and programs across Property & Facilities.
The Director of Operational Excellence, North America Properties and Facilities: Reports directly to The Head of NA P&FM and functionally to the Global Head of Projects & Programs
As an Expert, you will...
• Lead process diagnostics to identify impactful opportunities for operational improvements across end to end value streams within the Facilities space
• Support change leaders through each phase of deployment, including the development of a process-specific plans for design, pilot, and sustain phases
• Manage a core team providing central services to support the North America regions. These services include but are not limited to: Project and program management, Capital planning and management, Centralized bill processing, and third-party facilities management support (IFM, designers, architects, project and cost managers)
• This role will assist in the development of business cases for workplace projects, monitor regional compliance to policies, procedures, SLAs/KPIs, support the Pearson branding, office standards, safety and sustainability efforts
• Projects will align to Pearson’s strategic objectives and will involve significant process transformation and change
• Utilize problem solving efforts on key projects to improve quality, reduce cost and eliminate waste
• Provide leaders with project status updates, feedback, and appropriate reporting on key process focused objectives requirements
Responsibilities:
The Director of Operational Excellence, North America Properties and Facilities has responsibility for centralized operational support for all North America facilities. Specific responsibilities include:
• Standardizing the service delivery model to support the regional directors:
◦ Invoice processing
◦ Third-party SLAs
◦ Third-party KPIs
• Manage and program operational improvements:
◦ Regular reporting- budget, schedule, issues- on all NA projects to Global Head of Projects and Steer Co
◦ Understand detailed stakeholder requirements, constraints, and assumptions in order to establish the project plan, project charter and project deliverables.
◦ Manage the transition, performance and SLA/KPIs of all centralize facilities third-party providers
◦ Conduct a kick-off meeting with all key stakeholders in order to review the overall project plan and gain consensus.
◦ Execute the tasks as defined in the project plan in order to achieve the project goals.
◦ Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs
◦ Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
◦ Conduct project close meeting, capture lessons learned and archive for future projects.
◦ Develop 5 year capital plans for all NA properties
◦ Manage contractual agreements with key third party providers for NA Facilities
◦ Support safety and security audits, system and training with Global Safety and Security.
◦ Support VP of Facilities and Global Projects with project/initiative status reporting.
◦ Assist with other ad-hoc projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 15 years program management, business process and facilities management experience.
• Knowledgeable in procurement, project management and property & facilities organizations.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and change management experience
• Service provider, hospitality experience.
• Ability to build project plans and monitor/report on project status.
• Knowledge and competency in business processing mapping and documentation.
• In-depth knowledge of facilities services, construction and third party outsourcing
• Develops and maintains constructive and cooperative working relationships with others.
Additional Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
• This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree. MBA a plus
• PMP Certification
• Six Sigma training
• Ability to travel internationally and domestically as needed (20-30%)
