Senior Financial Analyst, International Networks
The International Networks Finance and Accounting group of Sony Pictures Television is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join a team that is responsible for budget, mid-range plans, actual and forecast reporting which includes coordination with operations as well as special projects, ad hoc and management reporting for existing and new ventures.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparing, analyzing, and reviewing financial information for actual, budget and forecast reporting as well as ensuring that consolidated financials are aligned with the U.S. GAAP and SPE policies. The successful candidate will need to understand accounting and financial principles and demonstrated experience in research analytics.
• Support Business Managers on all financial reporting and planning matters, including coordination, preparation and analysis of monthly actual, budget, forecast, rebills, COFA approvals and production of the monthly home office actual report;
• Prepare and analyze flash, actual, budget and forecast information submitted by business units and prepare SPE templates for consolidation reporting;
• Accurately perform monthly close process and corresponding analysis to ensure that all financial information is recorded accurately and aligned with SPE policies and the U.S. GAAP;
• Collaborate with the accounting group especially during month end close and audits, preparing and providing all information needed such as monthly financials templates, corporate forms, audit reports/analysis, etc;
• Actively analyze data and results for possible reporting errors in business unit financials and SAP, prepare ad-hoc analysis on a timely basis to ensure business units’ financials and movements are recorded accurately;
• Build and maintain a strong and cooperative relationship with Accounting and Operational employees in order to obtain all information needed, ensuring the completeness of business units’ financial information;
• Participate in ongoing and adhoc business projects concerning commercial aspect of business units that are carried out either in territory or home office. Actively perform analysis on various information received from business units in order to provide sufficient and relevant data to senior managements and operation team;
• Collaborate with the group to improve the efficiency of reporting process for Asia region;
Experience
• Bachelors degree in accounting/finance
• 4+ years public and/or private accounting/finance experience required Big
• Strong MS Excel required
• CPA/MBA preferred
• Entertainment experience preferred
• SAP knowledge preferred
