Role Summary
The Senior Director of Enterprise Data Services will be responsible for architecture, design, implementation and ongoing optimization and support of central enterprise data repositories, tools and services to support the combined missions of Global Eagle. This role will support the organization globally and act as a central point for a data and data management.
Key Responsibilities
• The Senior Director will supervise the development of reporting tools, standards, utilization, and development capabilities across the enterprise.
• The Senior Director will also oversee the integration of various informatics solutions with the business system for Global Eagle
• Accountable for best practices for data management, data governance and data requirements that align with standards and regulatory compliance. Leads data roadmap and model discussions and development with Architecture and IT, establishing ownership.
• Partners in the development of Data Management standards and capabilities.
• Directs and ensures resolution of complex problems including providing customer education. Consults on projects, resolves complex data issues and provides training and education to clients and staff.
• Creates and implements business information models that align with business strategy, and business intelligence and data road maps.
• Arbitrates differences of interpretations of data. Identifies opportunities to provide internal and external data consultation to business and system processes.
• Demonstrates thorough understanding of overall data models, data relationships, mapping lineage and business rules.
• Participate in complex entity design, structure and oversee population.
• Responsible for the development and management of strategic goals and objectives for the data management in alignment with the enterprise.
• Leads multiple or highly complex, strategic projects involving high level of coordination among multiple departments and business areas which utilize data to support new business capabilities and enhanced analytics.
• Develops and maintains effective relationships to coordinate the delivery of all data-related services to clients.
• Actively participates in the utilization of emerging technologies. Evaluates new data management technologies.
• Establishes and ensures a data quality program that aligns with divisional and enterprise processes and strategies.
• Provide technical leadership in designing and implementing large scale, complex enterprise applications requiring high performance and availability.
• Be able to synthesize complex data/information, and lead complex technical implementations.
• Establishes and manages Enterprise Data Team consisting of internal resources, contractors, managed services, and program/project practitioners.
• Build and lead the Data Analytics team: 1) Data Scientists to drive innovative solutioning, 2) customized business intelligence, with deep analytics skills and experience that drive insight across all business platforms and functions, 3) ongoing routine portfolio analytics
• Ability to matrix manage/organize others with the IT organization in order to get work done quickly.
• Experience in a large, complex organization or corporate structure environment required.
• Consults and makes recommendations to management on significant issues.
• Assess existing analytics tools and techniques, and select best in class tools and technologies to support Data Analytics strategy
• Develop and routinize best in class processes for Data Analytics support in the organization
• Provide leadership to ensure adherence with all external and internal Compliance and Regulatory requirements; including a governance framework around customer and client data.
• Develop and maintain excellent working relationship with all internal and external key stakeholders.
Qualifications/Experience
• Bachelor’s degree required, advanced education in computer science, decision sciences/mathematics or related is strongly preferred or in lieu of a degree 20+ years' data analytics leadership experience.
• Minimum of 10 years’ complex data analytics leadership experience.
• Deep and broad knowledge/ understanding of multiple data analytics framework techniques, platforms and technologies, and can implement innovative strategies across Global Eagle’s business platforms and offerings.
• Knowledge of external Regulatory and Compliance Requirements.
• Project Management skills are a plus
