Job Title:
Vice President, Project Management
Job Summary:
A Vice President, Project Management at SapientRazorfish is equal parts solution shaper, veteran project manager, client problem solver, trusted advisor, sales pursuit leader, business manager and cat herder.
People in this role go beyond just managing large projects or portfolios…they’re also player/coaches, facilitators, collaborators, risk mitigators, community builders and expert planners. They’re not afraid to color outside the lines or roll up their sleeves.
You will be accountable for
• Delivery of large scale engagements to clients
• Managing the client relationship from a delivery and commercial standpoint
• Framing decisions around business drivers, scope, time, cost and quality.
You may manage one very large client engagement or multiple client engagements.
You can lead solution definition and delivery of complex programs.
• Large multi-disciplinary teams (50-100+ people)
• Seamlessly bring together SapientRazorfish’s disciplines (Strategy, Creative, Data, Technology and Marketing Engagement).
• Be the engagement leader ultimately accountable for ensuring an engagement's success and client satisfaction
You develop and maintain executive-level relationships, delivering on our promises (quality and profitability) and building thriving / high-functioning teams.
You’re also a leader within the PM discipline helping to strengthen the group at a city, national and even global level through
• Developing rock star PMs (people growth & development)
• Building tight knit teams
• Driving thought leadership for the PM discipline
Key Responsibilities:
• Shapes and establishes integrated programs to ensure quality, on-budget delivery
• Provides vision, purpose, direction and motivation to team. Clarifies and communicates program objectives and success criteria.
• Adapts and applies PM methodologies to meet program objectives and client business drivers.
• Clarifies and enforces accountability and goal-setting for project leaders of all domains.
• Works closely with client program manager to manage both SapientRazorfish and non-Sapient aspects of the program.
• Oversees the development and tracking of integrated estimations, project plans and metrics.
• Manages risks to the program, to SapientRazorfish and to the account. Establishes and maintains program communications.
• Oversees scope management throughout the project life-cycle.
• Accountable for project finances.
• Understands legal implications of an engagement. Drives contract negotiations. Ensures the execution of project reviews.
• Provides oversight and leadership to engagements of 50-100+ people.
• Removes roadblocks to success and acts as an escalation point for executive decisions.
• Contributes to PM discipline initiatives focused on consistent delivery quality, growing our PM talent and ensuring collaboration / knowledge sharing.
Job Requirements:
• Project Management
◦ Deep project management experience in delivering large digital solutions including customer / user experience, strategy, data and technology. Experience implementing marketing / content, CRM and commerce platforms preferred.
◦ Proven track record leading multiple full project life-cycles from business development to final delivery.
◦ Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously (preferably in an integrated program).
◦ Extensive experience of leading technology projects and managing globally distributed teams of 50+ people
◦ Familiarity with Agile and Iterative Development (or other new methodologies).
• Client Relationship / Consultative Selling
• Extensive experience in consulting and/or client-facing role
• Client management experience with primary accountability for peer-level client relationships at the executive level, C-level preferred.
• Accountability for budget or client revenue of $20mm+.
• Experience helping to drive business development efforts and/or selling consulting services with new and existing clients.Familiarity with shaping and delivering retainer type engagements including AOR and capacity based agile delivery teams
• Proven track record of leading large RFP responses / sales pursuits
Essentials
◦ Direct managerial responsibility for up to 15 individuals.
• Proven player / coach that can seamlessly transition between the big-picture and the tactical details
• Excellent presentation, negotiation and facilitation skills.
• Openness to travel and work at client offices.
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent military experience
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
