We’re searching for a Texture Artist experienced in the texturing and shading of 3D animation characters and props to sit onsite at Snap Inc. In this role, you’ll partner with the art lead and 3D modelers to deliver new assets. You will play a vital role in shaping how Snap tells visual stories and will help us with development of new and innovative content experiences. This job is based at our Venice, CA headquarters.
What you’ll do:
• Collaborate with the Modeling and Concept team
• Collaborate with prototypers and engineers
• Create both standard and customizable texture maps, optimized for our proprietary engine
• Create consistent preview renders and shaders for verification
What we’re looking for:
• Strong 3D texturing and shading portfolio demonstrating style adaptability
• Strong painting and color theory knowledge
• Strong understanding of shading networks
• Proficiency in Maya, Photoshop
• Precision and an eye for detail
• Knowledge of low polygon and high polygon modeling/ UV mapping is a plus
• Knowledge of Substance Painter is a plus
• Work experience on animation projects
• Work experience on real time projects is highly desired
• Ability to complete tasks within production schedules and deadlines in an organized manner
• Ability to learn and adapt to new workflows and methods
• Openness and responsiveness to guidance and review notes from supervisors, both creative and technical
