Page 73 seeks to hire its first-ever Director of Development. This leadership position is being created as Page 73 is on the cusp of its 20th year producing and developing the best early-career playwrights and launching the careers of some of the American theater’s most important contemporary voices. Page 73 is invested in taking full advantage of our recent strategic growth to cement organizational stability for years to come. The ideal candidate will be an engaging, hands-on leader and team-builder with outstanding organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
The Director of Development will be an integral member of the leadership team of Page 73, reporting to the Managing Director and Producing Artistic Director, and Board of Directors. This position will lead strategy development and supervise the planning, implementation, and evaluation of all fundraising programs, including special events, to raise $750,000+ in annual contributed income through individual, corporate, foundation, and government support. Page 73 is also in the quiet stage of a significant fundraising campaign; this position will work directly with our consulting team to lead all aspects of the campaign.
Major Responsibilities:
• Actively seek, cultivate, and solicit new funding sources from individual donors, foundation, corporate, and public sources;
• Prepare compelling materials to communicate with current and future donors, including grant writing and reporting to corporate, foundation and public funders, and individual donors;
• Direct annual and multi-year campaigns to raise funds for general operations, special projects, and campaign activities, with a focus on cultivating new donors and increasing support;
• Oversee and maintain the processes and systems to support development efforts, including research, cultivation, stewardship, record keeping, reporting, and acknowledgements;
• Oversee planning and coordination of all cultivation and fundraising events, including the annual Spring Celebration, donor nights at productions, and Board-hosted events;
• Support leadership in Board cultivation and fundraising efforts. Engage and liaise with the Development, Nominating, and Campaign Committees and Event Task Force.
Qualifications:
• 3 or more years within non-profit fundraising world or related positions;
• Previous experience with individual fundraising and gala events preferred;
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills;
• Experience with CRM databases, Giftworks and OvationTix preferred;
• Enthusiasm for Page 73’s mission;
• Preferred qualities: A positive attitude, creative thinker, highly organized with careful attention to detail;
• Theater experience is a plus.
