Analyst/Senior Analyst, Finance - Subscriber Metrics and Ad Revenue
Position Type: Regular - Full-Time
Position Summary:
SiriusXM is seeking an Analyst/Senior Analyst to join the Finance team for Subscriber Planning and Analysis and Ad Sales Planning.
The position will have a wide range of responsibilities including, but not limited to, cultivating the core subscriber financial model; supporting the Advertising Sales group from a reporting and budgeting perspective; integrating learnings and metrics from multiple lines of business into daily operating procedure; and key daily/weekly/monthly subscriber reporting. This role requires strong analytical, time management, and prioritization skills.
The Analyst/Senior Analyst, Finance will be responsible for relationships across several internal business groups including Finance, Ad Sales, Marketing, Automotive and IT through consistent interaction, sharing of best practices and thought leadership
Duties and Responsibilities:
Subscriber Planning & Analysis
• Responsible for updating the comprehensive subscriber financial model used for monthly, quarterly and annual forecasting, reporting and long range planning.
• Actualize the model each month.
• Research and prepare monthly and quarterly variance analysis.
• Respond to multiple ad-hoc requests for information from different user groups.
• Contribute to multiple cross-functional teams to ensure proper understanding of all metrics, reports and analyses.
• Engage IT when needed to build and validate new reporting elements for subscriber team.
• Clearly and concisely communicate logic and findings to Senior Management.
• Create actionable reports for internal clients to help address business needs and assist with ad hoc analyses for subscriber planning.
Ad Sales Planning
• Act as a liaison between Advertising Sales, which includes Ad Sales SVP, Regional VPs, Account Executives, and Ad Sales Planning team, and Finance to ensure ongoing communication between groups. This includes providing regular variance explanations on various components of Ad Sales budget/forecast.
• Responsible for updating and maintaining the revenue and expense budget/forecast for Ad Sales group, including monthly actualization and quarterly forecasting for all components of this budget (revenue, revenue share, operating expenses, salesperson commissions, etc.).
• Assist SVP of Ad Sales and his team by providing supporting financial reports, including but not limited to:
◦ Weekly Ad Sales Pacing Report sent directly to CEO, CFO, and President,
◦ Daily revenue performance updates for SVP of Ad Sales,
◦ Weekly recurring reports for channel and advertiser performance,
◦ Weekly compilation of salesperson and VP forecasts and sales projections,
◦ Prepare comprehensive budget package for all components of Ad Sales budget to share with management.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• None.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics or related field or equivalent experience.
• 1-3 years of analytical business experience including forecasting, reporting and financial modeling; 3+ years to be considered for Senior Analyst.
Requirements and General Skills:
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills combined with solid business and financial acumen.
• Advanced Microsoft excel and financial modeling skills.
• Self-starter with initiative and desire to take ownership of responsibilities under minimal supervision.
• Superior organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and ability to develop relationships and partnerships with multiple internal clients.
• Results oriented; shows significant initiative and is proactive.
• Previous experience supporting Ad Sales or other sales function a plus, but not required.
• Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
Technical Skills:
• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Working knowledge of Hyperion Essbase preferred.
• Working knowledge of SQL and/or other database querying tools is a plus, but not required.
