Associate Director, Production, Condé Nast Studios (CN/S)
Condé Nast Studios is a full-service production facility where best-in-class editorial content is created by some of media’s most powerful brands. Operating in the heart of Manhattan’s vibrant financial district at One World Trade Center, Condé Nast Studios produces premier still and motion shoots, video content, and events for the company’s portfolio of iconic titles, including Vogue, Vanity Fair, GQ, Architectural Digest and W. We’re seeking an experienced Production professional to join our in-house staff. The ideal candidate will be experienced in all aspects of still and video production planning, workflow and organization as well as an excellent collaborator and proactive problem solver.
Primary Responsibilities
• Manage CN/S staff to ensure performance standards, encourage innovative solutions and assist with individual growth
• Work closely with department head to determine future industry trends and create strategies to ensure CN/S is optimizing internal resources
• Develop relationships across CN, CNE and CNI to ensure brand leaders and creatives are aware of CN/S services and are making educated decisions around booking shoots
• Create monthly reports that show usage across all CN/S studios including types of shoots, brand, revenue and occupancy
• Develop relationships with preferred vendors
• Estimate, negotiate, and agree on budgets and timelines with clients and staff
• Ensure production and building management concerns are addressed including security access, building policies, load in/out, catering etc
• Prioritize customer service so CN/S staff is attentive to all production needs, communicates effectively and is patient with our customers (may include reception desk duty when necessary or appropriate)
• Modernize best practices and procedures for better alignment with industry standards, client needs and corporate environment
• Deliver images outside standard workflow as per special instructions from clients or creative teams
Desired Skills and Qualifications
• 5-7+ years working in a studio environment in digital video, TV, and photo
• Expertise in budgeting, timelines and other administrative workflow related to photo and/or digital video production
• Strong problem solving skills and concept development with the ability to listen well, process information, recognize issues, identify and communicate solutions, implement action plans
• Excellent organizational and customer service skills and a can-do attitude
• Ability to see the big picture while also handing day to day issues when necessary
