Job Description
Job Summary:
Six Flags employees are friendly, outgoing, professional, and responsible for creating amazing guest experiences every day. As the Operations & Maintenance Supervisor, you play a vital role in ensuring the best service to our guests on a daily basis. The Operations & Maintenance Supervisor enthusiastically oversees the training and operation of the Aquatics, Park Services, Security, and Maintenance departments and staff.
Job Duties:
• Oversees and ensures the success of the day to day operations of the Operations and Maintenance Departments.
• Oversees the work order process.
• Follow, enforce and document all State of California, Amusement Ride Division requirements as it relates to maintenance and Operations.
• Performs frequent daily site inspections of ongoing work and review of upcoming work. Check park areas frequently for any needed repairs and maintenance.
• Conducts annual chemical safety training on chemical application.
• Assists with capital projects as assigned. Assist in the design of new projects, signage, set, etc.
• Demonstrate and continually train the Six Flags Mantra of providing Friendly, Clean, Fast, and Safe Service to each Guest
• Make recommendations regarding Team Member hiring, promotions, and corrective action.
• Identify areas for continued improvement; develop and implement strategies to enhance these areas.
• Implement Guest service programs, and continually follow up with team on Guest service related measurements.
• Ensure all Training Material is practiced in the workplace including Park, Departmental, and Lifeguard Certifications
• Ensure that Safety and Security Awareness are reinforced and practiced consistently
• Complies with and ensures safe ride and maintenance operating procedures as outlined in the ride and manufacturer manual
• Resolves Guest issues and addresses Guest concerns regarding safety and park policies
• Must follow Six Flags policies and procedures at all times including Department of Labor Break and Meal Laws.
• Perform Department Duty Manager role as assigned
• On occasion, will be expected to perform duties at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom
• Executes any other activities as requested by Department Manager or Director
Minimum Qualifications:
• Must be an Ellis and Associates Licensed Lifeguard and/or Instructor or be able to obtain the proper certifications.
• Must be available Days, Evenings, Overnights (Graveyard), Weekends, and Holidays
• Must have a valid California Driver's License
• The ability to work indoors and outdoors and in all weather conditions
• Must have the ability to stand, walk and run for periods of time, as well as bend, squat, kneel and stoop when needed
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access is beneficial
• Must possess five years prior supervisory experience in a related field.
• Must posses a high school diploma or its equivalent
• Degree in management, horticulture and Art design or equivalent work experience
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• 18 years of age or older
