Our ideal candidate for the Senior Marketing Director position will be a strong strategic visionary with the ability to combine creativity, programmatic thinking, and fiscal responsibility to generate sales and visibility for Tommy Nelson children’s books. A key component of success will be the ability to market non-propriety brands; as well as, working on author/personality-driven books.
Responsibilities
Essential Responsibilities:
• Develops, recommends, presents and implements divisional marketing objectives, programs, and strategy to editors, authors, agents, internal and external marketing team
• Strategize, cast vision, create, and scale influencer/blogger network
• Help ensure revenue goals are met while managing marketing expenses accordingly
• Create consumer convention/trade show strategy
• Provides consultation on all imprint-wide marketing activities to ensure best practices are embedded in plans
• Stays aware of marketing trends and provides recommendations of new marketing initiatives and strategies
• Conveys key initiatives, financials, and marketing updates at various internal meetings (sales conference, retail meetings, etc.) as needed
• Develop and continuously improve relationships with key sales accounts and sales representatives.
• Researches, solicits, and implements corporate partnerships as appropriate
• Assigns and manages internal team members to ensure overall divisional plan is implemented and executed while providing leadership and coaching

Qualifications
Work Experience:
• 10+ years of marketing experience preferably in a consumer product industr
• Experience having created and scaled influencer networks/content platforms
• Experience managing a range of marketing mediums (print, radio, digital, social media, direct mail, etc)
• Experience in marketing commodity products (non-branded or personality-driven)
• Experience managing members of a marketing team
Education:
• Bachelors Degree in marketing or business-related field
• Master’s Degree in business-related field preferred
Industry Knowledge:
• Experience with children’s product marketing preferred
Skills:
• A strategic thinker (creative yet practical) with an entrepreneurial mindset
• An ability to think programmatically connecting all dots and maximizing all facets of a marketing campaign
• Ability to convey high-level strategic concepts to other team members
• Engaging personality with the ability to work across divisions of the company
• Experience managing P&L statements and budgets
• Highly proficient in basic computer applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and
• Outlook as well as social media platforms and trends in that space
• Proven ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships with authors, agents, colleagues, and vendors
• Exceptional written and oral communications skills
• Exceptional organizational skills with ability to juggle many logistics and deadlines
