A growing organization, Spectrum Networks, home of 16 Local News Channels nationwide and 3 Regional Sports Networks in Los Angeles is looking for a Financial Analyst to fill a vacancy within the Finance Department.
Our ideal candidate will be organized and adaptable, and should possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
JOB SUMMARY
Administers the financial planning and analysis of assigned business units/functional areas in support of the Regional Sports Networks and Local News Channel.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Validates and interprets financial results
• Forecasts/Budgets production costs, overhead, capital projects, and affiliate revenues
• Provides analysis and ROI of assigned business unit/functional areas initiatives
• Manages amortization schedules, accruals, and reclasses
• Completes month-end close process, working with the central accounting group
• Creates standard and ad-hoc financial reports as necessary (MTD, YTD, QTR, etc.)
• Analyzes headcount, overtime, PCards, Meeting Cards, T/E, and freelance labor
• Prepares Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders, working with the central purchasing group
• Identifies inaccuracies/inefficiencies, advises management of causes, initiates corrective action
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Strong organization and time management skills
• Proficiency with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Self-starter with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
• Ability to elicit cooperation from a variety of sources, including upper management and clients
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Knowledge of Hyperion, Essbase, JD Edwards, Medea is a plus
• Complex Excel modeling experience is a plus
EDUCATION
• Degree in Finance/Accounting or related area
RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE
• Minimum of 2-3 years of related experience
• Experience in broadcast television strongly preferred
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Office environment
• Sitting for extended periods of time
• Overtime may be required to meet deadlines
• Dexterity of hands and fingers to operation computer functions via peripherals
