Role Summary
The Director of Global Facility Operations will manage the distributed network of global locations to ensure operations are streamlined within each facility and to set standard operating procedures and common processes for core operations inside the facilities. These core areas include facility/office management and maintenance, client services & reception, vault & mailroom, asset acquisition, tracking & disposition, environmental health & safety and security. They will directly manage the location leads of our approximately x locations around the world, ensuring that each location is equipped to efficiently handle all operations inside the facility.
Key Responsibilities
• Proactively manage and negotiate leases globally
• Develop global Facilities Management Strategy, guidelines, standards, KPIs (success metrics) and reporting.FM scope includes Maintenance, Custodial, Landscaping, Reception Service, Mail & Package, etc).
• Manage facility budgets, including maintenance and repairs. Assist in annual forecasting as well as scoping of special projects. Track and analyze budgets and makes recommendations for action.
• Serve as facilities management subject matter expert (SME) providing consultation and deployment of global best practices for local adaptation
• Direct team to prioritize building needs, prepare requests for proposals, summarize responses and recommend contractors for various construction projects.
• Manage regional/national vendors for facilities repair & maintenance and employee services.
• Manage equipment inventories and asset tracking processes.
• Inform corporate and business unit management on facility conditions, responsibilities and decisions.
• Work with facility/office managers to trouble shoot issues as they arise.
• Provide coaching, direction and leadership support to team members in order to build a high-performing, cohesive global team
• Develop and direct implementation of space utilization plans in concert with IT and project management.
• Key contributor to planning and design of facility expansion and renovation.
• Maintain landlord and property management relationships, participate in lease negotiations for acquisitions, renewals or lease terminations.
• Contract with and direct all external contractor services. Ensure conformance to building standards and specifications, including project costs and construction schedules
Qualifications/Experience
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in facilities, maintenance or operations, with a proven track record in leading successful teams.
• Strong project management skills, or certifications.
• Capable of working without close supervision and to set one's own priorities.
• Able to communicate skillfully and professionally with Global Eagle team members and external vendors.
• Adept at analyzing problems and recommending solutions.
• Awareness of physical and digital security procedures in order to work with and maintain confidential and company sensitive information.
• Must be willing to work overtime and weekends for high-risk projects or emergencies as needed.
• Prior industry experience inclusive of large scale capital projects and facility management and experience leading multiple facility functions.
Recommended Skills:
• Experience in the media and entertainment industry.
• At least 10 years of progressively increased responsibilities in the facilities management.
• Experience in implementing central processes.
• Knowledge of procurement and vendor processes.
• An understanding of OSHA regulations and local building codes and requirements.
• Experience in Environmental, Health and Safety programs.
• Ability to travel to global locations.
Skills/Interests
• Strong verbal and written presentation skills including the ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple way and to tailor key messages and presentation style to multiple audiences.
• Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access
