has an exciting opportunity for a Vice President, Content Distribution & Business Development. This position will be based in Stamford, CT and our NYC office in Midtown. This leader will report directly to the SVP, Global Content Distribution & Business Development. The Vice President, Content Distribution & Business Development will be responsible for driving content media distribution strategy and execution across select international regions and global initiatives to include traditional TV, digital, mobile platforms, social media, virtual reality, OTT technologies, and other emerging revenue and distribution opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Work closely with SVP of Global Content Media Distribution & Business Development, as well as regional General Managers to develop and execute strategy, including financial and distribution targets, for optimizing distribution of WWE’s core weekly programming, short form content and other key content across traditional TV, digital and mobile platforms, as well as driving growth of WWE’s global SVOD service (WWE Network), in collaboration with other LOB (lines of businesses), including Consumer Products and Live Events
• Lead media deal process from inception to close, including developing and implementing high-impact negotiations strategies, providing thought leadership in benchmarking to competitive content properties, and developing KPIs to measure internal and partner success
• Partner with executive team and division heads to foster alignment across all lines of business and work with Legal & Business Affairs to facilitate optimal deal structuring, papering, and execution
• Serve as key leader to manage content and business development partnerships
• Develop strategy, initiate, assess and execute opportunities with emerging technology companies
• Lead, manage, and coach junior members of Content Distribution team
Qualifications:
• A fearless winner with a proven 10+ year track record of success pushing new boundaries in global sports, content licensing, and/or related media/entertainment segment
• Charismatic presentation skills and exceptional negotiating/deal-making ability
• A natural ability to think strategically and structurally, while serving as an inspirational and motivational manager of people – across time zones and cultures
• Outstanding financial, analytical, negotiating, and creative problem-solving skills that result in successful partnerships across key KPIs, with an affinity for defining value and competitive positioning
• Exceptional project management and organization skills with the ability to seamlessly multi-task and lead multiple high-priority, time-sensitive initiatives in parallel
• Senior leadership potential and passion to grow into increased responsibilities
• Self-motivated and able to creatively overcome obstacles and objections
• Willingness to challenge and influence through analysis and presentation
• Strong experience interacting with and presenting to senior executives, as well as the ability to work with senior leaders – able to quickly establish oneself as credible with executive management
• Prior success working within a cross-functional matrix environment, including outstanding and intuitive communication skills as well as the ability to manage up, down, and across
• Solid understanding of the WWE brand and audience specifically, as well as the broader sports, media, and technology landscape
• Willing and able to travel regularly and extensively to key international markets and manage market complexities
• Bachelor degree required, Master degree preferred
