We aim to bring clarity and original thinking to questions of consequence, on topics ranging from politics, the economy, and global affairs to technology, science, and culture. As one of the longest-running magazines in America, we find ourselves at an exciting moment: one of both continuity and transformation, of upholding our legacy while continuously reinventing ourselves for the future.
The Atlantic is looking for a bright and creative marketer to join the customer marketing & growth team. We oversee all paid-content and various audience-development strategies, focusing on growing subscribers, members, and fans. This position is a junior role, supporting the department’s goal of providing a superior customer experience with every touchpoint to increase loyalty, brand love, and retention. This role is a terrific opportunity to develop skills in customer acquisition and retention specifically and digital marketing generally, and it requires frequent collaboration with The Atlantic’s data, ad-ops, and product teams.
Responsibilities include:
• Managing our email marketing efforts, from staging and list segmentation to deployment and reporting
• Supporting the creative development and coordinating campaign details for successful executions of our acquisition, retention, and gift-marketing efforts
• Working with our design team on the development of digital assets, such as our online purchase forms and email creative
• Coordinating the schedule and strategy for our online advertising campaigns (house and external)
• Basic office duties like invoicing, scheduling, and making sure projects stay on task
• Assisting with the department’s financials and invoicing as well as magazine fulfillment, circulation audits, and print orders
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher
• Skilled communicator, both written and verbal
• Ability to manage a diverse portfolio
• Comfortable with (or interested in learning) light HTML, front-end coding, and design tools (like Adobe)
• Some experience with an email service provider a plus (The Atlantic uses IBM)

Spirit of Generosity- Equally, Atlantic Media seeks what we term a spirit of generosity – a natural disposition towards service and selfless conduct.
