Forbes Media seeks an enthusiastic, diligent Editorial Assistant to support the Chief Content Officer / Editor of Forbes Magazine. This job is administrative with huge editorial opportunities to gain exposure in an entrepreneurial digital and magazine environment. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a keen interest in journalism and the media industry.
Responsibilities include:
• General office administrative duties for editorial department
• Organize meetings and maintain calendar
• Act as liaison for Chief Content Officer / Editor in all communications
• Process invoices and manage expense reports
• Fact-check stories for Forbes Magazine and proofread online posts
• Coordinate and plan editorial events and meetings
• Assist in editorial development for conferences and events
• Assist Editorial Staff with special projects for large editorial packages
• Assist in front-of-the-book copy for Forbes Magazine
• Work closely with Corporate Communications and Sales teams to schedule panels and speaking engagements
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree
• 6 months to 1 year work/internship editorial/journalism experience, preferably at a publication
• Ability to multi-task and project manage
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Work well with all levels of staff and management
• Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint and Google Docs
