We’re looking for a Web Developer to join our innovative and agile development team, building digital marketing campaigns for LATimes.com, ChicagoTribune.com and our other news properties.
Responsibilities
• Code email and landing pages for LATimes.com and 13 other markets
• Working knowledge of agile software methods like sprints and burn down charts
• Contribute to building tools that make the creative and development process more automated
• Comfortable working with cross-disciplinary teams and using web-based software platforms
• Enhance and continue development iteration of reusable marketing assets
• Quality test code using software (i.e. Litmus & BrowserStack) before handing off to other teams
• Work on a small but close marketing dev team with a calm and effective process
• Use popular dev tools like Slack, Github, Atom & AWS and have a valued opinion
• Code with team members who have positive attitudes in a collaborative environment
• Work on projects and produce code used by millions of monthly visitors
Qualifications
• A minimum of 2 years experience coding emails, landing pages and websites
• Bachelor’s degree in technical field (i.e. Computer Science) or equivalent work experience
• Examples of hand-coded HTML, CSS and JavaScript production-ready code
• Comfortable with or willing to learn Git and GitHub for source code and project management
• Working knowledge of frontend frameworks (i.e. Bootstrap) and process tools (i.e. Gulp)
• Ability to do graphic production edits in Photoshop & Illustrator and/or Sketch
• Understand the development process from local (LAMP) to staging and production (AWS)
• Have professional verbal and written communication skills
