The Social Media Coordinator for Heinemann Publishing will work closely with the Director of Digital Communications, video, marketing and editorial departments, to grow engagement around Heinemann authors and their content through Heinemann’s blogs and other social media channels. This includes creating, and distributing, content on social channels for organic and paid social media strategies with the goal of increasing awareness and engagement, and growing Heinemann authors.
As a representative of Heinemann, the Social Media Coordinator will create, manage, and coordinate written, visual and engaging content for social media, the Heinemann Teacher Tip App, and the Heinemann Podcast. The coordinator will work with the department’s content calendar for social media outlets. The ideal candidate will be a creative writer, generate ideas for the content online with Heinemann’s professional books and professional development. Any experience with live-tweeting, copy-editing, proofreading, and strong writing skills/digital story-telling is preferred. Must be flexible and able to pivot daily needs based on demand.
The ideal candidate will listen in on, participate in, and help guide the continuing conversation around what educators need; recognize and curate content related to Heinemann authors and the educational community; share on social channels to engage and create conversation; strengthen our service to the educational community, and grow followers on social channels. The coordinator will need to moderate daily conversations and activity within the Heinemann social media community and blog to help to provide their input on social media strategy development. The coordinator will also provide support to the Director of Digital Communications on assigned projects.
Social media, Tip App content creation, podcast production, monitoring and listening. Create and schedule daily blogs (which involves copy-editing, proofreading, and strong writing skills/digital story-telling, headline writing, Wordpress work)
Sharing content on social media channels and maintaining a content calendar (includes Tip App planning/calendar, live tweeting, Twitter chats, monitoring Facebook groups). This includes scheduling social media posts using third-party systems.
Physical Requirements:
• Might be in a stationary position for a considerable time (sitting and/or standing).
• The person in this position needs to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
• Must be able to collaborate with colleagues via face to face, conference calls, and online meetings.
