Job Summary:
In today's world of constant media consumption, reaching consumers with quality, impactful advertising is more important than ever. At the center of that consumption is Spotlight the ad sales arm of Comcast that provides premium (digital) video advertising to clients of all shapes and sizes. We sit at a unique focal point of cross-platform consumption with a treasure trove of data and of premium inventory.
Comcast Spotlight is seeking a talented person to help create the future of television and innovate in the advertising and measurement space. The Executive Director will build and lead an advanced analytics team to support business priorities using a wealth of 1st and 3rd party data sources. He/she will understand client needs and business opportunities that can be addressed by data, and will lead the team to find solutions. Those solutions may range from new advertising capabilities to be tested with clients; to analyses that help better utilize ad inventory; to client narratives about market trends in TV viewing. The Executive Director, Advanced Analytics will be technically savvy and will work with internal teams to find the best infrastructure to meet Spotlight's data needs; and will have hands-on quantitative skills as well to lead a team to find solutions with the highest degree of integrity. Finally, the Executive Director will be a strong communicator of complex data concepts into intelligible business language.
Core Responsibilities:
• Lead the prioritization and development of a variety of new data capabilities, in alignment with Product Strategy and Sales. Examples include:
-Developing predictive models for managing advertising inventory based on supply and demand.
-Use inference models to better characterize the audience of Spotlight advertising.
-Develop delivery optimization models to maximize campaign reach across linear and internet delivered advertising.
-Integrate television audience behavior with offline and online success metrics to demonstrate value of television advertising investment at National, Regional and Local level.
-Develop a team of analysts and data scientists to implement performance and productivity enhancements in the support of Spotlight
revenue goals. He/she will enforce data governance policy, and deploy tools to support data and analytic needs throughout the Spotlight
organization.
-Communicate with business and technology leaders to understand and respond to emerging business needs
-Provide a wide range of analytical, technical and managerial experience including managing predictive analytic lifecycle from project
definition to model deployment and maintenance
-Develop BI systems using large, complex datasets and maintain high standards for data quality and insight generation
• Oversees development and usage of quantitative research tools and
models to ensure department goals and vision align to company
initiatives.
• Oversees budget to ensure required resources are available, while
coordinating with the finance department to secure additional budget for
capital and operational expenditures as additional business needs are
presented (software resources, etc.).
• Oversees strategy planning and design with multiple outside
departments to align departmental objectives to business goals.
• Manages relationship with the legal department to ensure compliance of
modeling, analysis, and vendor policies.
• Develops and communicates goals, strategies, tactics, project plans,
timelines, and key performance metrics to reach goals for several
functional areas.
• Defines the information, reporting, and analytical needs of the
company. Ensures goals, strategies, and plans needed are developed to
achieve the vision.
• Serves as strategic leader of multiple functional areas within the
organization (e.g., marketing, operations, care, etc.) that has rapport
with senior leaders to achieve departmental objectives.
• Oversees multiple program teams that develop and provide customer,
product, and business operation insights, and analysis to improve and
enhance companywide decision making.
• Ensures the effectiveness of projects, programs, and teams.
• Ensures the department implements and utilizes the industry best
practices and technology required to provide insights, analysis and
modelling for the company.
• Oversees integration of multiple models and outputs of models to solve
business challenges.
• Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters
of significance.
• Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work
nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Job Specification:
• BA/BS in communications, data analytics, statistics, or related field required.
• 10+ years in data applied to advertising or marketing businesses.
• Leadership experience with managing teams and building relationships with both internal and external clients.
• Generally requires 14+ years related experience.
