This role is part of Global Supply Management (GSM), the global organization chartered to manage the company’s global indirect spend (all non-product goods and services required to run the business), such as IT, HR, Marketing, Sales, T&E, and Professional Services. As a global category manager, you will bring a strategic, company-wide perspective to the management of a complex, high visibility value chain and the associated supplier relationships. Within GSM, your Sourcing leadership and experience will help our continued development and execution of best in class global Sourcing processes, systems and methodologies.
Position
The Senior Category Manager, Professional Services Procurement, will work in a global team environment with influence across the company. The primary objectives are to (1) develop Sourcing Strategies related to consultancy, engineering services and other outsourced activities within Bose, (2) demonstrate leadership in supplier relationship management to ensure business and strategic objectives are met and (3) continue to evolve the sourcing role from commercial expert to valued business partner who is sought at the time of strategy setting. This position will be based in Framingham.
As an experienced leader, this high visibility position will support different organizations within Bose on a global level. As a pro-active member in numerous global multi-functional teams, you will share the goal of a best-in-class network of innovative partners which drives value and delivers the highest caliber of services to Bose.
Strategic Procurement Responsibilities:
• Anticipate and assess clients' needs and objectives through strategic planning and relationship management. Comfortable operating at the strategic level, identifies opportunities to demonstrate and deliver value to senior leadership at the time of strategy setting.
• Establish and execute highly effective, collaborative sourcing strategies to accelerate impactful business partnerships
• Access, analyze and present relevant market intelligence to inform stakeholders aligned with the Sourcing strategy and business strategy.
• Frame Sourcing project opportunities.
• Evolve sourcing and procurement processes based on category specific business or internal stakeholder requirements.
• Develop and advocate robust sourcing and negotiation strategies to optimize the total value delivered.
Spend management & Supplier relationship management
• Strategically manage vendor relationships. Coordinate ongoing supplier management practices with internal customers to optimize financial and operational performance.
• Identify and qualify potential new partners to ensure forward looking visibility of best in class cost, service delivery, service offerings and future service or capability roadmap.
• Identify opportunities for cost and/or process improvements.
• Manage bid proposals (RFI/RFP), requirements documentation (SOW), service level agreements (SLA), purchase/service agreements and other related documents.
• Negotiate pricing, terms & commercial conditions of contracts and manage through the contract lifecycle.
• Provide regular reports to senior leadership team on strategy, savings and other KPIs.
• Maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organization’s executives, department heads and other stakeholders regarding Sourcing activities.
Requirements
• A leader and self-starter with demonstrated ability to achieve results
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in fast paced environment
• Greater than 10 years of relevant procurement experience
• Bachelor's degree required. Masters degree preferred
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Working knowledge of MS office, SAP and/or Ariba knowledge is a plus
• Travel (10 to 20%, international). Ability to effectively work in an embedded or remote environment.
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
• Strong negotiation skills. Fluent in relevant contract terms and current supply and market dynamics
