GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The position will consult with customers, assess needs, recommend Mediacom products/services, overcome objections and close the sale. Accurate data entry is required within multiple software applications and follow-up required to ensure order completion. As the first impression to Mediacom, demonstration of quality customer care skills must be present within the conversation at all times.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Proactively educates customers on ALL Mediacom products and any ancillary products in order to sell complete packages and bundles as well as upgrades existing services.
• Accurately presents service package/bundle options by using recommended bridging statements, follow department scripting, and meet minimum sales objectives on all calls.
• Understands and promotes all current marketing campaigns with the goal of system net gain.
• Builds customer loyalty by his or her ability to effectively differentiate Mediacom products from those of our competitors, and communicate those differences effectively.
• Must consistently maintain all minimum sales sell-in rates, quality scores, and other performance standards set for the department.
• Must consistently maintain established quota standards for each product line as defined by the needs of the company. Quota standards will flex with seasonal factors and/or business needs.
• Accurately uses multiple computer applications to process work orders and obtain customer information.
• Enters orders accurately and efficiently and schedules installation appointments using computerized customer billing system.
• Understands that GREAT customer service is inherent to being a GREAT Mediacom Sales rep
• Performs multiple tasks simultaneously while on the phone with customers.
• Maintains professional and respectful conduct when interacting with customers and co-workers.
• Follows all Mediacom Communications policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
• High School Diploma or GED required. Associate’s degree in Sales, Marketing or related field is a plus.
• At least 1 year recent, relevant, consultative sales experience or the equivalent is a plus.
• Previous telecommunications industry or recurring revenue product experience is a plus.
• Comfortable working in a base plus commission environment.
• Successful candidates possess strong interpersonal and communications skills,
• Ability to actively listen, communicate clearly, concisely and assure customer understanding.
• Ability to retain detailed, or important, information and/or instruction.
• Must enjoy creative problem solving and be sales oriented.
• Ability to work in a highly competitive environment, handle sales rejection and maintain mental focus.
• Ability to perform standard mathematical calculations.
• Ability to function in a closely monitored environment, including continual monitoring of customer calls and productivity levels.
• Must be PC and Windows literate; have the ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively, and possess effective keyboarding ability.
• May be required to work various schedules and shifts to accommodate call volume and special projects.
• May be required to work overtime on an as needed basis.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals.
