Open Position: Art Portfolio Instructor Part-Time and Full-Time
1. School location: Oogie Art Seoul, Korea and Shanghai in China
2. Experiences: Minimum 1 year
3. Position begins: March 1st in Seoul, April 1st in Shanghai. (We will train you in New York)
4. 1 Year Full Time: Fine Art/Studio Art/Graphic Design Major
3 Months Full Time: Graphic Design, Animation, Fashion Major, Architecture
5. 1 Year Full TimeSalary: $30,000-$35,000/yr + Room + Round trip Flight ticket + Health
insurance + Pension
3 Months Full Time: $2,500-$3,000/month + Room + Round trip Flight ticket
Job Description:
As an Art Portfolio Instructor, you are at the heart of Oogie Art’s mission to give each student the individualized guidance to realize their creative vision! You will be overseeing the studio during class hours, and assisting students in completing their artworks and brainstorming with them to develop ideas for new projects. Working directly with students, their parents, the directors, and the principal, you will help develop an individualized curriculum for each student based on their technical skills, ideas, goals, and time horizon. You will only teach students in English, so don't worry about learning Korean or Chinese.
Art Portfolio Instructor Responsibilities:
- Teach students in a variety of media (painting, drawing, sculpture, mixed media – other a knowledge of Adobe programs
- Upload attendance and students’ progress at the end of every class using our school’s online forum.
- Check on attendance in the online forum.
- Light administrative work (posting attendance and bing a liason between students and the director.)
Art Portfolio Instructor Qualifications:
- B.F.A in Fine Art, Studio Art, or relevant experience; MFA strongly preferred
- Professional, practicing artist (portfolio required)
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills essential
- Prior teaching experience with kids 7-12 graders a plus
- Must be able to commute independently
- Knowledge of art college admissions, application requirements, and notable art
competitions a plus (all hired teachers will be given a fact sheet)
- Knowledge of art history and contemporary artists, galleries, museums, etc.
